EVENTS
OnVeteransDay2015,theDioceseofVenice
performedaspecialmassforVeteransandtheir
familiesatPatriotPlaza.Itwasalovelyceremony
attendedbymanyfromourcommunity.The
Diocesewastheveryfirstcommunity-based
organizationtohostaneventatPatriotPlazawhenit
firstopenedin2014.
OnDecember12,theannualWreathsAcross
AmericaprogramwasheldatSarasotaNational
Cemetery.Amotorcycleescortledthetruckthatheld
over9,000wreathstolayatthegravesitesofour
veteransandfamilymembersburiedorinterredatthe
nationalcemetery.Ourwonderfulcommunityensured
thateveryherowashonoredwitharemembrance
wreaththroughtheirgenerousdonationsto
theprogram.PatriotPlazawasonceagainaplaceof
honor,remembranceandprideas3,000membersof
ourregioncametoparticipateintheceremonyheldin
theamphitheater.
