Possibility for accommodation in the area.

Sailing speed per. hour approximately 3 - 5 km
The tour starts in Nedersø and goes west to Kulsø. It is not allowed to
leave the canoes when sailing. At the left bank of the lake, the Danish
Boy Scouts have a large camp. The lake ends in a small passage.
After the passage you are entering the Kulsø. Canoes may also be hired hourly for sailing on Nedersø and Kulsø or after agreement. Fishing
is prohibited in the lakes.
At Hastrup Mølle you will meet the first weir. Here is a trailer to make
it easier to cross the passage. Please remember to return the trailer to
the gangway – and please do not disturb the traffic at the area.
Hastrup Sø is a bird-sanctuary, why you have to cross the lake directly
and the shortest way. It is not allowed to leave the canoes during the
passage.
 Hastrup Rasteplads (rest area) is located at the left bank just after
the bridge. Here you will find water and toilets. Noisy behavior after
22.00 p.m. is prohibited. No fee. Address: Hastrupvej, 7323 Give.
Den gamle Ålegård does no longer exist.
Tykskov Dambrug – from here the trip is following large, soft curves
through the river-valley giving a fine impression of the earlier size of
the river.
Arvad Dambrug is now nature-restored. Just after the bridge an installation for gathering up plants is established – please don´t touch!
 MES Søen (lake) has a length of 2 km and is rather narrow with high
slopes. At the end of the lake – on the left bank you will find a rest-area.
Water, toilets and barbeque-area are at present. Trailer and ramp are
available, when the canoes have to get over the weir.
Brande Elværk Sø (lake) disappeared on the 7th of November 2013
because of a dike-breach, that drained the lake for water, and the lake
was back to the original river. Note that the old lake-bed is very soft, so
please avoid landing.
 Brande Camping/Cafeteria is a proposal for resting area. Here you
will find opportunity for shopping. Stay for more than 20 minutes costs
kr.10 per person. Remember that contact takes place in the kiosk.

 Sandfeld Rast (rest area) is placed about 5 km before “Hytten Dambrug”. Water, toilet and barbeque-area are at present. No fee. Address:

in Skarrild.
Engebækbroen (bridge). Return of canoes is possible form here. Canoes are to be pulled up to the left after the bridge. Distance to Sandfeld about 2500 m.
Hytten Dambrug is closed and there is created a great stream with a
river bed through, which you will have to try to follow. There is no possibility to stop here anymore.
Dalgaskanalen (channel). Here the river is dammed up by placing
large stones in the river. Caution is advised (note the signs).
 Skjern Å Bro (bridge) Possibility to pull up the canoes shortly after
the bridge on the right bank at the weir. Drinking water and toilets are
at present. There are established 3 shelters, and if you want to use
the shelters for overnight stay, you will have to book on www.herning.
dk . No fee. Address: Sdr. Grenvej, 7400 Herning. (You will also find a
campsite after a walk of 700 m).
 Skarrild By (village), campsite on the left bank at the bridge. Toilets
and drinking water are present. No fee. Here are shopping facilities.
Return of canoes refers to the opposite bank 100 m downstream. (Note
the signs).
Karstoft Å – River Karstoft runs into River Skjern at the left bank. It is
draining the area southeast of River Skjern.
 Sdr. Felding – passing the old railway bridge and the bridge at the
Herning-Varde road. On the left bank, about 100 m after the bridge, you
will find a fine camping site and cottage village. For canoes to return
the trip ends here. You have to pay a small fee for using the campsite. If
you want to rent a cottage, please contact the F24 Service Station, Sdr.

VESTERLUND
Vorgod Å (river) runs into River Skjern between Sdr. Felding and
Borris, and River Skjern almost looks like a small river. By Borris you
will pass Borris Krogbro, and the trip could be completed here on
the right bank at the bridge.
 Approximately 500 m after Borris Krogbro the Forrest- and
Nature Agency has established a canoe resting place at the right
bank. Dry closet, tables and barbeque are available on the site. No
drinking water. No fee. Distance to Borris about 1000 m.
Gjalbæksbro (bridge) is placed 3 km from Borris. From here it´s
possible to catch busses and trains. Canoes have to be pulled
ashore on the left after the bridge - and left after provisions.
 Skjern Havn (harbor) is the end of the journey. You sail into the
harbor to the right side, when you get to the suspension bridge,
which is crossing River Skjern. Please place the canoes to the right
inside the bottom of the harbor. No drinking water. Here are toilets
and possibility for accommodation. Distance from town about 500
m. Address: Petersmindevej, 6900 Skjern.
Sailing may only take place from
June 16th to September 30th, and
only in daytime from 8.00 to 18.00.
RULES:
•Fishing from the canoe is strictly prohibited.
•Remember, landing is strictly prohibited in
the lakes.
•Avoid touching or collide designated or set
fishing gear.
•Please show maximum respect towards the
anglers during the voyage.
•Littering is forbidden – take it to the nearest
services.
•Remember by weirs to run the trailers back
to the gangway after use.
•Noisy behavior is prohibited
•Dogs are not allowed.
LEASING TERMS
Canoes can be rented only by persons over age 14.
Users are responsible for canoes and equipment in the
agreed rental period.
Before the tour start there will be made an ordinary rental
contract containing information about the time of the trip
and the price for lease.

Number of persons in each canoe: 2 adults and 1 child, and it is
recommended to use the supplied life jackets during the voyage.
Any cancellation must be made at least 8 days before the
voyage starts. By cancellation later than 8 days before
the leasing period, there will be a cancellations fee on 50
% of the rent price.
