Clint Fernandes
the official hair and make-up
artist for the Femina Miss
India Contest says,
My favorite
beauty gadget
is the heated
eyelash curler. It
works like magic
to curl even the
most stubborn
lashes. It also
opens up heavy
lashes and
works on fake
lashes as well.

Nayana
Karunaratane, chair for
OMC Asia-Pacific says,
My favorite beauty gadget
is the Galvanic machine.
It gives amazing results in the
treatment for wrinkles. The Orange
Peel facial with the Galvanic
current not only tightens the pores,
it erases many age spots and
freckles giving the skin a youthful
appearance.
Namrata Soni,
known for her work in
films like ‘Om Shanti
Om’ and ‘Aisha’ says,
I love using
eyelash curlers as
they open up the eyes.
Just use a little mascara
after that and you will
have your eyes looking
bright and striking
throughout the day.
Sunita Motwani
Makhija, Director of SCHNELL
HANS, says,
Kapil Bhalla, make-up artist for
Kingfisher calendar says,
The most important gadget according
to me is an eyelash curler. Even if you
don’t apply mascara, the curler will help you
get a wide-eyed look. The gadget is a little
complicated to use, but once you get used to it
is the perfect beauty tool.
Ishita Khanna from
Sangeeta & Ishita Salon
says,
I am using the Wahl
trimmer a lot these
days for haircutting. Irons
are also popular these days
and so are blow dryers,
which we use a lot while
styling men. I recently styled
actor Irrfan Khan’s hair for
a magazine shoot where I
used these three
gadgets.
My favourite for hair would
have to be the Conical Wand.
It is a versatile tool, which helps
me create a variety of looks, be it
for regular clients or photo shoots.
For beauty, it would have to be
the Micro-Dermabrazing Machine
because it has a fantastic effect on
skin and is the most popular
facial treatment at my salons.

The GHD hair iron is one
of my favourite gadgets. I
cannot work without it because
it’s super easy to use and is
capable of creating many styles
within no time.
Sylvia Chen, National Brand
Placid
Braganza
Sebastian Design
My favourite
gadget would
have to be the hair
crimper. If used
creatively, it can create
shapes in hair. It adds
volume, texture, and
also makes it easy to mould. Finally, the finish that a crimper leaves the
hair looking very modern and ultra glam.
Nikhil Sharma,
Sebastian Design Artist, Creative
Head at Affinity Salon says,
Asha Hariharan,
Walter Dorairaj from b:blunt says,
The Forfex FX44 Palm Pro Micro Trimmer
is my absolute favourite. The size and
functionality of this piece of equipment is
phenomenal, and that’s what I like best about
it.
Wella Professional, Colour Brand
Ambassador says,
My favourite beauty gadget
is the clamping iron. It can
create variations in hair textures and
give such amazingly different hair
movements, from curls to straight in
minutes. I enjoy the artistic freedom it
offers me. I love it!
My favourite gadget currently is
my limited edition GHD flat iron.
Hair texture is the hottest hair trend.
Big, bold, soft hair is what spells hair
glamour in 2012. The slim, flat, sleek
design of the iron allows me to create
smooth curls, volume, s-shape waves
(large waves), and tighter curls. Flips
give versatility to my finished style,
allowing me to create different looks
on each client rather than just straight
hair.

Natasha Nischol from Fat Mu
Make-up Studio and School says,
The air brush is my favourite as it gives
a beautiful, flawless, and long-lasting
finish to the skin.
Valisha Shethia from b:blunt says,
Virginia Holmes from Fat Mu says,
The scissors, comb and hairdryer are the gadgets
I use the most to style my clients’ hair. Scissors
and comb are for the haircut and hairdryer is to set the
hair in place according to the look the client wishes to
sport.
Shu Uemura eye lash curlers are the best
in the world. They’re award-winning and
really curl the lashes extremely well. They are
currently my favourite.
Ajay Shelar, make-up artist for
Bipasha Basu says,
The gadget I use most is the hair
straightener and that too from the
brand I trust most – Nova. The effect lasts for
10-12 hours and that saves a lot of time and
effort.
Manzoor Khan of Manzoor Khan
Salon and Makeup Lounge says,
The eyelash curler along with
mascara is my favourite. It changes
one’s whole look. The curler opens up
the eyes and makes you look bright and
presentable. Finish off the look with a
couple of strokes of mascara. You can
wear this look both during day as well as
night. Even if you are not into makeup I
feel that an eyelash curler with mascara
and gloss is enough to make you look
good.

Vidya Tikari,
independent makeup
artist says,
My airbrush gun
is my favourite
gadget. Airbrush
makeup is a good
alternative to mineral
base, especially in the
summers. High-definition and non-comedogenic, airbrush makeup is very
light and gives a flawless, barely there, natural look. It’s a great choice if
you want makeup on for a short duration, though waterproof airbrush stays
put for longer.
Mohd Ismail Shaikh, known for his
work in the television show ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’
says,
The gadget I use the most is the eyelash
curler. The lead of the project I am currently
working on, Deepika Singh, has beautiful eyes
and this gadget helps me highlight that feature of
hers.
Ayesha Wadiwala, known
for her work in PETA ads and owner
of the website Eye-sha makeovers
says,
My current favourite makeup
gadget is a battery-operated
mascara by Bourjois. The best
thing about the gadget is that you
don’t need an additional eyelash
curler as it curls the lashes as well
as it coats them with mascara. This
is very useful for shoots as well as
bridal makeup. It also works well
with false eyelashes.
