The Center promotes interdisciplinary teaching and research about Africa, and through its outreach office, it offers a number of teaching and informational resources to a community and education groups on campus and beyond. These resources are funded by the Center’s Title VI grant. The University of Illinois Library is the largest public university collection in the world with over 40 departmental libraries and divisions, and the Africana collection is among the richest in North America. An African studies librarian and staff provide bibliographic support and promote development of Africarelated collections that are established in a wide array of disciplines.
