Dillon Radunz Cole Potter Impact of Theodore Roosevelt Impact of Theodore Theodore Roosevelt was one of many great people who impacted the united states. He helped us win the spanish civil war by being brave so that his men would follow him into a battle that seemed lost and he helped out with the smithsonian and other museums in getting there artifacts so that people in the U.S. could see what animals looked like in africa and south america. He also helped out by being president for eight years in office. The Spanish War Dillon Radunz Theodore Roosevelt was a had a very big impact in the Spanish­American war. After be one of many presidents to serve in the service Theodore Roosevelt was a general who commanded one of the big attacks in the war. Throughout the battle he showed his bravery and led the men to the breaking point of the enemy. The final push that Theodore Roosevelt ordered only involved Him and three other men. Once he noticed that it was only them he turned back into the trench and talked to his men. He finally got his men into there fighting spirits and they all pushed the finally charge to victory but after 5 days the spanish surrendered. After the war Theodore still wanted to fight so he insisted to the Navy captain that if there was another war that he wanted a spot on the front line. As World War I was raging on The allies were not yet into the war yet. Theodore Roosevelt Did not want to enter the war because he thought that the Germans were cheating by using their submarines. But he also wanted to enter the war because he didn’t believe in being neutral because he believed that if you were neutral you were betraying your country and your honor. He also believed that if you weren’t 100% loyal to your country or you couldn’t help with the government or be a part of the government. Before the allies entered the World War 1 and when they entered World War I Theodore helped them get prepared for the war by helping with the fighting plans. After Presidency Dillon Radunz When Theodore Roosevelt resigned from presidency he made sure that he knew the country would be in good hands so he left the presidency to one of his closest friends. Theodore went to Africa because he wanted to hunt big game and to give some of that big game to different museums around the united states including the smithsonian and 2 different museums from washington. In all Theodore Roosevelt and one of his sons shot or trapped approximately 11,400 animals. These animals were between insects, moles, Hippopotamuses, and elephants. This collection included 512 big game animals. There was such a large collection of animals that it took years to get them all mounted and it took 1 more year to get them sent out to the museums. Theodore Roosevelt was aware of all the animals that he killed and he explained that it was for a cause that if the animals go extinct that man kind would have a good picture at what they looked like. Theodore Roosevelt Then later went on an expedition to south american. This expedition took 10 years of Theodore’s life because of the fatal wounds and the sickness that he caught on the trip. The trip was funded by The Natural History museum and therefore Theodore would have to bring back animal specimens. During the trip he had his son and 16 well trained paddlers and woodsmen. Theodore Roosevelt discovered the river that is now named Roosevelt river. Roosevelt saved 2 of the canoes by jumping into the river and stopping them from smashing into rocks but he also suffered a sever flesh wound on his leg. He insisted that they leave him behind but his son convinced him to continue. After presidency Theodore still helped out with the country by conducting many animal specimens to museums and by discovering 2 very important rivers. Depression and After Cole Potter Teddy Roosevelt went through a huge depression that change his life.Teddy’s depression was caused by his mother and wife dying on the same day. he was so depressed that in his diary he put a huge x that filled the page and put “ the light in my life is gone”.Teddy’s depression almost caused his political career to end because he moved to colorado to start a new life and he left everything behind. When he was in Colorado he was a Sheriff and he wanted to help the environment. During his time in colorado he got married again. After Teddy’s depression he went back to New York City to get back into politics. Teddy was elected president after he ran for it. But after his presidency he was elected Governor of New York City. He did very well after his deprssion In office cole potter Teddy had great power in politics.Teddy Roosevelt was very good at politics because he read very many books to learn about politics and he went to Yale College to be and businessman. He led the United States into power with Foreign affair.Teddy was successful because throughout his presidency he didn’t just think about himself he tried to better the whole country.Teddy was very good at politics because he studied for it for his whole life Teddy’s was one of the most impacted presidents there was.Through Teddy’s career as president he established the Deepartment of Commerce that impacted the United States a lot. He he negotiated an end to the Russo­Japanese War and thereby won the Nobel Peace Prize. He made the United States have power with his politcal education.throughout Teddy’s career as president impacted the United States a lot. Conclusion In all Theodore Roosevelt impacted us with great succession and with great failures but with his impacts of being a great president, his impacts in both the spanish war and World War I, and him getting artifacts for 3 museums. He also had a depression stage in his life witch impacted the country very much by seeing one of their great leaders in that stage Works cited ●
