OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The KPR Institute of Engineering and
Technology (KPRIET) was established in the year 2009.
The institution is promoted by KPR Group, a renowned
business house in India with interest in Textiles, Wind
Energy and Sugar. The main focus is to offer quality
education to the younger generation to strengthen our
nation in the field of Engineering and Technology. Our
institution is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Anna
University, Chennai, and accredited by NAAC with A
grade. The institution offers 5 UG courses in B.E. Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics
& Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics
Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and 4
PG courses in M.E. - CAD/CAM, VLSI Design,
Computer Science and Engineering and Structural
Engineering. The vision is to become a premier
Engineering and Technological Institute of Academic
excellence through its commitment in offering value
based education to its students and to improve their
Technical, Intellectual and Professional skills in order to
enable them to meet the diverse needs and challenges of
the society, the Nation and the World at large.
The faculty development training program is
intended for faculty members employed in the affiliated
colleges of Anna University. This FDTP trains the
faculty members to plan and prepare the lessons,
understand the subject contents of Multicore
Architectures and Programming to improve the teaching
quality.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Computer Science and
Engineering is offering an UG degree program started in
the year 2010 with an intake of 60 and now the
department holds an increased intake of 120. The
department has started offering Master degree program
from the year 2014. The department has six laboratories
and internet facility is provided throughout the campus
by both wired and Wi-Fi connectivity. Also the
department has a well-planned infrastructure and a
growth oriented departmental activities such as
organizing seminar, workshop, FDP and etc.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering – KPR Institute of Engineering and
Technology in association with Anna University - Chennai organised a seven days Faculty
Development Training Program on “Multi-Core Architecture and Programming” from 12th
December’2016 to 18th December’2016. The Training Program started with a formal
inauguration function in which Dr. K. VishnuKumar, HOD/CSE delivered the welcome address
and Dr.K. Bommanna Raja, Principal/KPRIET delivered the Presidential address. Dr. S. Ram
Kumar, Dean/KPRIET delivered the felicitation address and Dr. Kumudha Raimond, Professor/
Karunya University delivered the keynote address. During this one week training program 25
participants from various institutions attended the sessions. The sessions were handled by Dr. T.
Jaisingh Professor / IIT Dhanbad, Dr. Kumudha Raimond, Professor/Karunya University, Dr. P.
Ganesh Kumar, Professor / PSNA CET, Dr. K.P. Vijaya Kumar, Associate Professor / PSNA
CET, Dr. P.RaviRaj, Professor / Kalingar Karunanadhi Institute of Technology and Dr. R.
Kingsy Grace, Associate Professor / Sri Sri RamaKrishna Engineering College.
The training program was ended by a valedictory function in which P.N.Senthil Prakash
Assistant Professor / CSE delivered the vote of the thanks. The entire training program was
coordinated by Dr. S. Manoj Kumar, Professor/CSE and Mr. S. Karthic, Assistant
Professor/CSE.
