BECOME A JUNIOR LEAGUE OF
JACKSONVILLE PARTNER
2016-2017
2165 Park Street Jacksonville, Florida 32204 904.387.9927 www.jljacksonville.org | @jljax Dear Sponsorship Partner,
The Junior League of Jacksonville Inc. (“Junior League”) was founded in 1923 and is an organization of women
committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through
the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. In a nutshell, we develop Jacksonville’s strongest women
leaders and address unmet needs in our community.
We are made up of approximately 1,000 service minded women who contribute more than 10,000 volunteer hours
to the community annually. Using this force, among other endeavors, we founded the Jacksonville Speech &
Hearing Center and Family Nurturing Center and were instrumental in the founding of the Children’s Museum
(MOSH) and Hubbard House, each of which addressed real and at the time unmet needs in Northeast Florida.
Our current community focus involves making nutrition education and affordable healthy foods accessible to food
insecure Jacksonville residents through our Fresh Minds program.
Our second annual fall fundraiser, the Junior League’s Unique Boutique, will raise funds to support this mission.
This three-day shop for a cause event will take place Friday, October 14th through Sunday, October 16th at the
League’s Riverside House located at 2165 Park Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32204. It will feature over 40 local
and regional merchants that represent a broad range of merchandise from home décor, gourmet food, clothing,
accessories, and gifts in a boutique-style event.
The event will feature a ticketed Boutique Kick Off Luncheon, ticketed Girls Night Out event, complimentary
activities and a ticketed Sunday Brunch. The Unique Boutique opens with an elegant Kick Off Luncheon on
Friday. Attendees will enjoy a special guest speaker while enjoying a sophisticated catered lunch. At the
fashionable Girls Night Out Party, ladies will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, wine and spirits, entertainment, gift basket
raffles, and more, in a fun filled shopping extravaganza. Saturday will be filled with fun, free activities, classes,
and demonstrations featuring our merchants, sponsors, and other League supporters. Sunday will feature a relaxed
ticketed Sunday Brunch.
Partnering with the Junior League will increase your organization’s visibility in the Jacksonville community. Our
event marketing and outreach efforts are aimed toward women, ages 25-65, with above-average household
incomes. In addition to Jacksonville, we target promotional advertising in nearby communities within a ninetymile radius. The Junior League Unique Boutique is promoted through print advertisement, radio PSAs, and social
media platforms.
The Junior League of Jacksonville, a 501(c) (3) organization, looks to our sponsors to assist us in furthering our
mission. We would greatly appreciate any contribution your organization would be able to make in our efforts.
Please contact Unique Boutique Chairs, BJ Buffington and Amy Cosgrove at (806) 787-9808 or

Sincerely,

COMMUNITY FOCUS
The Junior League of Jacksonville strives to improve the quality of life for communities
across the First Coast. We accomplish this by anticipating and researching needs of the
community and reacting to those needs with effective programs and trained volunteers.
Fresh Minds makes nutrition education and affordable
healthy foods available to food-insecure Jacksonville
residents. Access to healthy foods in certain areas of
North Florida is dire. The U.S. Department of Agriculture
states that in thirty of our neighborhoods, it is easier to
get a beer than a banana. We are addressing the issue
by providing nutrition education to food insecure
children and working with White Harvest Farms to bring
affordable healthy foods to families.
Kids in the Kitchen is an initiative of the Association
for Junior Leagues International and a concerted
effort to reverse the national crises of childhood
obesity and poor nutrition. Kids in the Kitchen takes
place in public schools and recreation centers
throughout our community.
CARES seeks to improve the opportunities for public education in Jacksonville. Through
CARES, Junior League members volunteer at George Washington Carver and North Shore
Elementary Schools in order enhancing education and literacy opportunities available to
students.
In addition to the Junior League’s own initiatives,
members volunteer in partnership with approximately
25-30 local non-profits annually through the Done In A
Day program.
