Storage
Ø Honey is best kept in a tightly closed container in a
cool, dark place.
Ø You can also store honey in the freezer.
Ø All honey will eventually granulate which is normal for
honey. If it does granulate you can reliquify it by
placing it in a bowl of warm water and stirring it every
20 minutes until it is clear again. It can be reliquefied in
a microwave by heating it for several short intervals and
stirring between each heat treatment.

would be - local honey directly from a trusted
beekeeper at a farmers’ market.
Ø For most consumers, good quality honey is expected to
be visually free of defect -- clean and clear.
Pumpkin Honey Bread
Ingredients:
1 cup honey
1 can (16 oz) pumpkin puree
4 cups flour
2 tsps ground cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground nutmeg
½ cup butter, softened
4 eggs
4 tsps baking powder
2 tsps ground ginger
1 tsp salt
Directions:
In large bowl, cream honey with butter until light and fluffy.
Stir in pumpkin. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until thoroughly
incorporated. Sift together remaining ingredients. Stir into pumpkin
mixture. Divide batter equally between two well-greased 9 x5 x 3-inch loaf pans.
Bake at 350°F for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let loaves cool in
pans for 10 minutes; invert pans to remove loaves and allow them to finish cooling on racks.
