Congratulations to:Mathletics: First Certificates – Bryce Stevens First for this year – Ebony Phillips Silver – Cooper Bloodworth, Kaleb Kopsidas, Taline Morgan, Evie Hawks, Damian Kerr, Cassie Orton Gold – Charli Dorrity On the 24th of June, a group from grade 5/6J including Markiah Wise from 4/5S did a dance representing indigenous people for Reconciliation Day (A few weeks ago). We got the dance from a group of dances called 'Move It Mob Style’; the people that dance are shown on a TV channel called ABC3, a kids channel. We were all lucky to have Mrs Zammit there to help us dance and to find the song for the dance called 'I Wish' by Mr Briggs. We all worked as a team to be able to dance in time and with the beat of the song. We were all practising the dance for over three weeks. We were going to perform it a week earlier but unfortunately Teagan Peterson wasn't there to hold up our poster that she made with the help from Hailey Johnson and a little bit of help from Shae Dorrity. On the day we had to wear casual clothes. It was a fun experience for us all and we all enjoyed it, we all hope to do it again later this year. By Shae Dorrity and Jodi Williams Netball Report Last Friday we played Strathmerton. It was a good game because everyone was a good sport. Everyone played really well and cooperated well. Strathmerton only had one team so the two teams came together and worked really well. The scores were 13 to 18 Strathmerton’s way. We all supported the team and made sure no one was left out. Our coaches supported us and that really helped us stay enthusiastic the whole way through. Even though we were losing through the game everyone kept their heads up. It was a good game overall everybody tried their best and that's all what matters. The one thing we need to work on is to get in front more. By Madelon L. and Teagan C Football Report On Friday the 21st of June we played Strathmerton at our home ground. In the first quarter we kicked 1 goal and 3 points and they got 6 goals and 3 points. In the second quarter we didn't score and they kicked 1 goal. Our defence was really strong in the second quarter. In the third quarter we kicked 2 goals and 8 points! We were pretty inaccurate and didn't take our chances. They scored 1 goal 2 points. We were on top in this quarter. In the fourth quarter we kick 1 goal and 1 point. They kicked 1 goal, making the final scores 4.9 (33) to 9.5 (59). It was a fun game but they had some good players. Strathmerton are a strong team and we matched it with them after quarter time which was good. Our goal kickers were Markiah with two goals, Shannon, Woody and Clay kicked one goal. Nathan McKenna and Aiden Orton received the awards, and Nicholas Madden and Toby Fieldman received awards for last week. By Woody G. and Toby H. BILLABONG CAMP When we first arrived at Billabong Ranch I got my bags & went to my room. My first activity was orienteering. We had to walk 80 steps, 100 steps & 150 steps. After that we did bush first aid. My group was called the Kangaroos the other group was called koalas. Then we had lunch and I had rice cakes with vegemite. After morning tea we all played Frisbee Golf. Aiden, Sky, Charli and I were in a group. Aiden broke the Frisbee so we had to wait 6 minutes for a new Frisbee. I won. Aiden thought he would have won. Because our group had finished I played on the playground it has an awesome swirly slide. Andrew calls Charli Cookie because she was wearing her cookie monster beanie every day. Then it was afternoon tea. We did a trivia walk with the group you were in in the Frisbee golf. We got free time. Half the people went to the farm yard which was not our group. The next day we did initiative games. It was fun. We played a game where we had to have a group of 4 people. My group was Cody, Jakara, Tully and I. You had to get a partner in the group. Mine was Cody. We had to take turns of being blind folded and get a cup of water to the other end. The other person directed the blind folded person. Next we did paddle boats and Cody and I were together. Then it was morning tea. We had chocolate cake and cordial. After that my group did roping. I got the rope over the bucket in 6 shots. Then my group did archery. Three people in my group popped a balloon so they got a lolly. Then it was bouldering and mini golf. First I did bouldering. We had to get a partner. It was odd so my partner was Mr. Lancaster .It was afternoon tea and we had fruit and cordial. Then it was mini golf. After tea we did red faces my group won! On the last day we did horse grooming and volley ball. Kate and I did horse grooming together and we had a horse with Blue Eyes. It kept on staring at me and it was freaky so I groomed it nearly the whole time. Then it was volley ball. It was girls vs. boys. Girls won then boys won then girls won. By that time it was lunch. We had sandwiches. I had 5 of them. They were yummy in my tummy. Then we packed our bags and I thought I lost my sleeping bag cover so Mrs Sezun and I looked all over the place. It was in the pocket of the suitcase. Then we got on the bus. I sat next to Cody and we laughed a lot. When we got to school Cody and I played one bounce until Dad picked me up. I REALLY REALLY REALLY LOVED CAMP!! By Zali Cornel
