Frequently Asked Questions Continued
Is Porous Pave, porous?
Yes
The product is manufactured using a nominal 1/4" to
3/8" inch rubber granule which creates a highly
porous material due to the “open-pore” design.
Porous Pave has approximately 29% void space
making it one of the most porous surfacing products
on the market.
Do freeze-thaw cycle conditions affect the integrity of Porous Pave?
No
It is like one large and continuous expansion and
contraction joint - due to the elastic properties of the
urethane and the compression capabilities of rubber,
the pressure that is exerted by freezing water does
not interfere with the mechanical strength of Porous
Pave.
Does Porous Pave have a lingering odour?
No
Only at initial installation there is a slight odour similar
to a new carpet smell that takes a few days to go
away.
Can Porous Pave be installed in the rain?
No
Porous Pave is a moisture-cured product and mixing it
in the rain would cause the product to stiffen and be
impossible to work with. Rain cannot occur within six
hours of applying Porous Pave. After six hours the
rain has no impact on Porous Pave.
