Board of Directors
Board Member at Large (4)
Please limit your message to
500 words.
I have a lot to offer and a lot invested.
I am a Board Certified Pediatric Anesthesiologist, Author, fellowship program director,
Educator, Athlete, Coach, Wife and Mom. In addition to my role as physician, I have
advanced my role as an educator by enrolling in a masters degree program. I will be
graduating with my MHPE degree in education shortly. Being an educator and teaching
the next generation of physicians is vital to the success of medicine and our
establishing the role of women as leaders in the development of educational directives
that will effect the trajectory of medicine.
As an international Malignant Hyperthermia Hotline consultant I serve the medical
community in handling emergencies. Helping care providers and giving them
knowledge and support to care for patients having life threatening emergencies.
I am a two time NCAA-All American in the discus event and I have been honored to
earn a full athletic scholarship from the University of Florida (Gators) and represent the
U.S.A. in the U.S. Olympic Festival and Pan-American Games. I am a motivational
speaker and throws (discus/shot-put) coach for high school athletes in our area.
The Swing Theory is a book that I have written to share my mentorship/teaching
techniques with my students and athletes.
I am more than the list of accomplishments and accolades.
I have stood in the winners circle, presented at international meetings, and have done
my best to inspire and motivate crowds of young athletes. I have enjoyed every minute
of my experiences and hope I can share what I have learned and help lead our future.
I have two young Daughters. Ages 6 and 8. I teach them by engaging them and also
leading by example. If you want to change the world you have to stand up, be counted
and make your voice heard. This is my chance to do that for women in medicine.
Young women need positive role models and leaders that care about their future. I
hope you will select me to be a part of your team. I promise to do my very best to make
AMWA proud.
Thank you for your consideration in this important endeavor.

Greatest Acheivement at this
point in your life
Doing it all. I am proud of who I am and that is more than one accomplishment. It is the
journey that has brought me to this point. I am proud of all that I have done and who I
have become. My greatest hope is that I will be able to use my journey to inspire others
that nothing is impossible and the only limit they have is themselves.
