Marilyn Lee Scrichield passed
away Nov.10, 2015, at the age of 79
at Hospice of lung cancer. She was
a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to many.
Marilyn was born Oct. 19, 1936,
in a home in North Bend, Wash., to
Mick and Dora Schroeder. She graduated from Mount Si High School in
1954. She was very acive in school being a member
of the honor society, a cheerleader, on the tumbling
team, and winning a tennis championship.
Marilyn married Harry Scrichield in October of
1954. They were happily married for 53 years before
he passed away in 2008. During the irst part of their
marriage they lived in the King County area where
their three children were born: Tom, Teri and Mat.
They moved to Cowlitz County in 1968. Marilyn
was involved in the school aciviies of her children,
serving as the treasurer for the PTA and she was a
Cub Scout and Camp Fire leader. Marilyn and Harry
enjoyed going to casinos, dancing, and traveling
together.
Marilyn also served as a board member for Habitat for Humanity and the Junior Buddy Program. She
belonged to a birthday club beginning in 1968 where
several close friends met regularly for over 45 years.
Marilyn and some friends also started their own
‘Golden Girls’ club about 10 years ago that meet on a
monthly basis and have taken some trips together.
Marilyn was a loral designer for 10 years working in local loral shops and did the lowers for many
family members’ weddings. Then she operated her
own plant maintenance business in Portland for six
years and inally worked for the Community Acion
Program for 10 years before reiring.
In addiion to her love of decoraing, crating,
paining, reading and gambling, in the last several
years Marilyn spent her ime checking of items on

her bucket list. She lew on a glider, loat plane and
helicopter. She also learned how to drive a dune
buggy, swam with the dolphins and cruised to the
Panama Canal, Alaska and the Caribbean. She also
enjoyed many trips to Hawaii and Georgia as well
as to Chile with her brother’s Rotary Club. The only
thing let on her bucket list that she regreted not
having ime to do was zip lining.
She is survived by her southern gentleman friend,
Larry Fallin; a sister, Elsie Larson (Tom); a brother,
Bill Schroeder (Sue); two sisters-in-law, Hulda Julio
and Bety Honodel; a daughter, Teri Nielsen (Rob);
a son, Mat Scrichield (Lauri); a daughter-in-law,
Jeannie Scrichield; 13 grandchildren, Ryan Scrichield (Tonya), Kelly Scrichield (Sarah), Natalie Suton
(John), Mark Scrichield (Jessica), Nate Nielsen (Jessica), Tyler Scrichield, Kyle Scrichield, Chance Waits,
Misty Woodrum, Hillary Reid, Sam Reid, Joey Reid
(Lisa), Shane Keith (Jaime); and 16 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Sadie, Kaitlyn, Parker, Brady, Pepper
and Sawyer Scrichield, Chloe, Emily and Tommy
Suton, Caroline Nielsen, Landon and Jaxson Rivenes,
David Reid, and Grace and Vivienne Keith. Marilyn is
also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and
many special close friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband,
Harry; a son, Tom; and her parents, Mick and Dora
Schroeder.
A celebraion of her life is planned for 2 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 21 at Renewal City Church held in the
auditorium at Kelso High School, 1904 Allen Street.

Warren D. Campbell passed away at
home with family members by his side
Nov. 6, 2015. He was born Aug. 5, 1928,
in Malone Wash. where he grew up and
graduated from Elma High School in
1946.
Warren joined the Army in December
of 1950. His father passed away in 1951
and Warren was honorably discharged
under hardship to come home and provide for his mother and siblings.
He married the love of his life,
Barbara Lea Morgan Aug. 21,1952, in
Malone, and they celebrated 63 years of
marriage together. Ater their marriage
they moved to Longview where they lived and raised their
family.
Warren drove truck for Puget Sound Truck Lines and
reired in 1990. His only hobby was huning with friends,
family and his grand kids.
Warren was preceded in death by his father, Edward
N. Campbell; his mother, Maida Mae (Steed) Campbell;
a brother, Edward Campbell (Claira); and three sisters,
Esther Gibler (Craig), Patricia Averet (Tom), and Phyllis
Dixon (Elmer).
Warren is survived by his wife, Barbara; three daughters, Karen Branscom (Patrick), Julie Campbell and Deanne
Brunell; and a son, Kevin Campbell. He was blessed with
four grandchildren, Becky Jo Farquhar (Scot), Nicholas
Branscom (Maggie), Jeremy Campbell and Ashley Zelko;
and nine great-grandchildren.
“We thank the girls who grew up calling Warren ‘Papa.’
They surrounded him with care and compassion, beyond
anything we could have hoped for. His great-granddaughter, Bailey Smith, Kristy Booterbaugh, Shelby Petersen and
Angie Nolan, you will forever be our angels. Thank you so
much.”
A celebraion of Warren’s life is planned for 2 p.m.
Monday at Steele Chapel.
Memorial contribuions may be made to the Hospice
Care Center.

SEATTLE — Seattle sent
its thoughts and prayers
to the people of Paris on
Saturday by hoisting a giant
French flag from the city’s
iconic Space Needle.
“The attacks in Paris on
Friday night were so tragic
that flying the French flag
was the least we could do to
show our support,” Space
Needle spokesman Dave
Mandapat told The Associated Press.
Officials had a special flag
made on Saturday morning
so it could be raised by the
afternoon, Mandapat said. It
measured 25 feet by 35 feet.
Attackers killed 129 people and wounded about 350
in separate terrorist attacks
in France’s capital.

of France on Friday night
into Saturday. A special
ceremony is planned on the
field when the Seahawks
play on Sunday night. The
Washington National Guard
plans to fly French and U.S.
flags below its helicopters at
the Seahawks game.
The National Football
League issued a statement
saying that all NFL clubs
will use metal detectors
and extra layers of security for games, including
the Seahawk game against
the Cardinals.
