Educational Sessions 1 & 4: Managing Risk: Handling Changes to a Project by Woods & Aitken, LLP
Lawyers: Emphasizes the different kinds of changes that can occur during a project and outlines an effective
process for handling change orders and making claims for changed or extra work.
Educational Sessions 2 & 5: Generational Dynamics by Quinn Texmo, JEO Consulting Group, Inc.: Learn
common traits of each generation that is now in the workforce, including cultural factors that form that
generation. Also, will learn how each generation deals with conflict management and how to capture the best
qualities of everyone.
Educational Session 3: Subcontractor Roundtable: A moderated question and answer with local
subcontractors on what makes a project run smoothly for multiple trades and the advantages of working
together.
Educational Session 6: Cyber Security by Greg Andersen, Douglas-Omaha Technology Commission: Cyberattacks are becoming more prevalent in the business world. Learn what to look out for and how to deal with one
if it happens.
Educational Sessions 7 & 10: Violence in the Workplace by Sharon Mount, Thomas McGee, L.C.: Define
workplace violence, identify the four categories of workplace violence and provide information on the general
risk factors and common actions to prevent violence.
Educational Session 8: Gender Diversity is Good for Business by Michaelann Agoranos & Peggy Newquist,
Constructing Opportunity, LLC.: Although the pay gap for women in construction is only 94% vs. 82% for the
workforce in general, women’s participation in the industry remains at about 9%. We will explore the
challenges and discuss solutions for attracting and retaining women in our industry.
Educational Session 9: Managing Risk in Employment: Hiring, Firing and Everything in Between by Woods
& Aitken, LLP Lawyers: Addresses labor and employment issues that we face along every stage of a project.
Specifically issues with performance, wage, disabilities, strategies for supervisors and other issues facing
construction employers.
Educational Session 11: Technology in Construction by Sydney Parkhe & Jeff Neal, McCarthy Construction
Company: An overview of new technology being implemented including, laser scanning, drones, virtual reality
and much more!
