Essential Understanding of Electronic Giving
●
●
●
myEoffering (electronic giving) refers to a process whereas church contributors opt to have
their financial contribution withdrawn from a checking or savings account or process their
contribution through a credit card transaction.
myEoffering provides a secure web based platform in
which contributors may privately and prayerfully make a
one-time donation or set up their entire years contribution.
myEoffering utilizes an easy to use schedule for contributors
to commit to any fund such as quarterly debt reduction,
capital campaign contributions or any periodic church
contributions.
Compared to traditional offertory envelopes, myEoffering is a relatively new process.
However as you will see there are many advantages to contributors and benefits to church
communities. All of which we hope to outline in the coming demonstration.
Benefits for your Church Community
●
●
●
●
Contributors using a form of electronic contributions tend to give more than contributors
who give through traditional means. Communities using myEoffering has witnessed giving
increases of over 50%. This increase occurs because contributors have an opportunity to
consciously plan and pray for the amount in which they contribute NOT give whatever is left
in the checkbook or pant pockets on Sunday morning. Research shows that those who plan
and give their gifts monthly give 40% more than those who give whatever they want or can
on a week-to-week basis.
Prayerful consideration of giving to God first and seeing their contribution as more of an
obligation enable contributors to witness a powerful sense of stewardship.
Consistent giving allows church communities the ability to better plan and consciously spend.
myEoffering allows for steady income throughout vacation season or snowbird season which
ordinarily would have seen a significant decrease in donor participation.

●
All church special collections are not only available for giving,
but pushed out electronically to contributors the week prior
of the date of the special collection.
●
●
●
●
The church has the real time opportunity to add or delete
any special collections at any time.
Church receives a detailed reporting schedule outlining all
contributors, contribution amounts and designations.
MyEoffering can merge with any software.
myEoffering allows church communities that also support a school on campus to receive
tuition electronically making a more consistent approach receiving full tuition amounts.
Benefits for the Donor
●
●
●
●
Donors that give electronically, give through myEoffering because it is more efficient for their
household. Many donors pay their bills electronically (ACH) and/or through credit cards and
use only a check for their church contribution.
Donors can use their credit card. Although no church community supports donor debt, many
families prefer to use credit cards in a responsible manner. Many prefer the security, ease of
bill paying or simply collect reward points. Statistics show greater than 65% of electronic
donors use credit cards and tend to give 2-3% more than ACH givers.
Donors can customize their own method of giving based on how they receive their income.
(ex biweekly, semimonthly or monthly)
Donors can manage all of their giving at one time. They can plan and designate their
contributions for all weekly collections, extra church collections and tuition at the same time
that they pledge their regular Offertory gift.
Is your Church Community Ready to Offer an Electronic Giving Solution
Do you have a large number of donors who embrace modern technology?
Nearly all young adults and most working adults are comfortable using modern
technology. Most say an electronic form of contribution will be the only form of
contribution in the future and check writing will not be an optional form of
contribution. myEoffering provides an avenue for those parishioners already
comfortable with this form of giving and bill paying.
Does your church community have a large number of donors who give inconsistently?
If your church community is like most, you have a large percentage of donors who only give 35-40
weeks per year. Imagine the impact if those donors maintained their giving throughout a 52 week
year. During initial set-up, donors make a private and prayerful determination as to their financial
support of their church community. Ordinarily, that contribution is evaluated by the monthly
sacrifice. Once that financial sacrifice is determined, the donor simply multiplies that monthly
sacrifice x the months throughout the year. In our busy world, most church communities cannot
achieve this level of consistency without the option of electronic contribution.
Are you Prepared to Allow for Marketing of myEoffering?
If you want to see a significant difference in income, you will need to convert at least 10% or
more of your donors over to myEoffering. Throughout our communication, we find an initial
immediate sign up of 1-2%. myEoffering offers a comprehensive marketing packet to help you
communicate more intelligently with your church community. myEoffering provides marketing
literature, bulletin inserts, offertory inserts and cards, banners, sample pulpit presentations and
conference call availability to assist you in a successful electronic giving drive.
Do you have a mobile church community?
Today, our society is extremely mobile. Students go away to college, families travel to vacation
destinations, retired folks prefer to reside in warmer climates, and many families travel to visit
relatives or friends and attend another church community. All of these factors add up to loss of
income for your church community. If your church community faces these very typical challenges,
then myEoffering could be very helpful in capturing additional income.

What if your church community opts to offer myEoffering and you
witness limited to no participation?
myEoffering witnesses both young donors and elderly donors participating. Many of these donors
may be ones that receive their income electronically, pay their bills electronically or opt to do
their banking electronically. Each church community will witness different levels of interest and
participation. myEoffering also encourages a simple unofficial survey asking donors their level of
interest and what they might want to see in their electronic giving program.
