Projects Foot of the>Month > Monogrammed Hat with Candlewick Trim In this Foot of the Month project we used the Brother Candlewicking Foot to accent ribbon trim and then added a custom monogram to top of a great looking ladies baseball cap. The Brother Candlewick foot is specifically designed with a deep groove on the underside to accommodate a candlewick style stitch. Combine this foot with a candlewick style stitch built in to your Brother machine. Or, if your Brother machine includes the exclusive My Custom Stitch™ feature you can create your own candlewick stitch using the coordinates we have provided here. This beautiful raised stitch adds interesting texture to most any project. Option #2: Create your own stitch by programming the candlewick stitch using the coordinates seen in Figure #4b. Please read more about My Custom Stitch™ below. About My Custom Stitch™ The My Custom Stitch™ feature gives you the opportunity to create unique decorative stitches. You can design a stitch using the supplied grid sheets and then program the stitch following the Y and X coordinates from the drawing on the grid. Note: Grid spacing is measured in millimeters. The total width of the stitch cannot exceed the width of the throat plate on the machine. You can also use the function keys on the display and simply “draw” as you would draw on paper. Test your new stitches on a fabric scrap. If necessary, you can edit the points or re-draw until you achieve a desirable stitch. Be sure to read your machine manual for more instructions. Your manual will provide a description of each function key. Visit Brothersews.com to see a variety of Free My Custom Stitch™ options for your Brother machine.
