EMBERS BENTLEY LOCATION & DIRECTIONS – EAST SUSSEX DIRECTIONS TO EMBERS BENTLEY CAMPSITE, SUSSEX From London: Either take the A23 (M23) or A22 South from London. [A23/M23] Exit the M25 at junction 7 for the M23 and continue for 14.2 miles, following on with the A23 towards Brighton. After 15.8 miles on the A23, take the slip road for the A27 East. After 8.6 miles at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A26. After 0.8 miles at the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit continuing on the A26. Look out for signs “Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum” after 5.2 miles, turn right into Bradfords Lane. Continue for 1 mile, keeping right onto Harvey’s Lane and after a few hundred yards turn left into the Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum. Follow signs to Embers Camping within the Bentley Estate. [A22] Exit the M25 at junction 6 for the A22 and continue south for 22.6 miles traveling through East Grinstead. When reaching the A26, take the 2nd exit onto the A22/A26. At the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A26. Look out for signs “Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum” after 1.4 miles, turn left into Bradfords Lane. Continue for 1 mile, keeping right onto Harvey’s Lane and after a few hundred yards turn left into the Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum. Follow signs to Embers Camping within the Bentley Estate. From East/West: Take the A27 until it intersects the A26. Follow on the A26 north for 0.8 miles and at the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit continuing on the A26. Look out for signs “Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum” after 5.2 miles, turn right into Bradfords Lane. Continue for 1 mile, keeping right onto Harvey’s Lane and after a few hundred yards turn left into the Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum. Follow signs to Embers Camping within the Bentley Estate. SAT NAV’s -‐ Enter BN8 5AF which takes you to Bentley Wildfowl and Museum where Embers Bentley is located. BY TRAIN There is a regular train service from central London taking approximately 1½ hours to Lewes or Uckfield Station. You can hop on a bus (route 29/28) which takes you within a mile of the campsite getting off at the Halfway House pub, or you can take a taxi which takes approximately 15 minutes. CYCLING There is a regular train service from central London taking approximately 1½ hours to Lewes or Uckfield Station. There are numerous routes if you want to go “off road”, but choose your route carefully to avoid traffic (see http://www.sustrans.org.uk for national cycle route planner). As you can hire a tent from us, cyclists can carry their sleeping bags and any other camping gear in a backpack. WALKING For the more adventurous, you can take a train to Lewes or Uckfield station. From the station hop on a bus (route 29/28), which takes you within a mile of the campsite getting off at the Halfway House pub. Use an ordnance survey map for your route from here, which can be found at www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk. As you can hire a tent from us, walkers can carry their sleeping bags and any other camping gear in a backpack.
