Studio 2 Active Learn (vert and rouge) are digital books and students will use these
instead of textbooks. Homework can be set as assignments and there are
additional resources on the Active Teach for the pupils.

Pupils to download key apps (Linguastars/Linguascope/ Vocab Express
Pupils to continue to use the vocabulary and grammar book on their iPad to
upload material. They should have started this in the First Year.

Grammar Points: Present tense
Revision of present tense verbs including irregular verbs: faire, aller, avoir, etre.
Use of negatives Studio Grammaire: pages 22-23
Learning/Homework
At this stage there is a great deal of revision to do in order to make sure that the
present tense is secure. Test pupils on the four key irregular verbs, (aller, faire, avoir
and être).
Homework should include: Assignments from studio, vocabulary learning + short
chunks of writing. Pupils need to get used to completing work on a variety of skills.
Encourage good presentation from the start.

Listening, reading and writing assessment–Listening and Reading – rouge. Writing in
mfl office.
Learning Outcomes
Pupils will be using their digital book and Vocab Express to speed up the acquisition
of vocabulary and to work on present tense verbs. The theme of hobbies will allow
pupils the chance to revise work from last year but the topics of TV programmes,
films, reading and IT give them new vocabulary to master. Pupils will be encouraged
to speak French in the classroom.

The Perfect Tense needs to be introduced and developed. Use studio 2 rouge to help
practise the perfect tense. Studio 2 vert focuses at this stage on ‘er’ verbs in the
perfect tense while studio 2 rouge includes irregular verbs and verbs that take ‘etre’.
Teachers should use their judgement and understanding of their teaching group
when teaching the perfect tense in this module.
Focus should be on the mastering the Perfect tense. Homework should include:
Assignments from studio, vocabulary learning + longer chunks of writing. The verb
section of Vocab express can be used to practise the perfect tense.

Learning Outcomes
Pupils will be able to talk and write about Paris and what there is to do there. This
may provide them with the opportunity to talk/write about where they live and what
there is to do there. They should be able to use the perfect tense to talk about what
they have done recently.

revision of listening, reading and writing.

Assessment: No assessment – perhaps pupils could record themselves and create
their own talent contest?
Learning Outcomes
Pupils will be able to describe other people and say what their talent is. This unit can
be used to revise descriptions and to practise the present, past and near future
tenses. Group work lends itself to this topic and the iPads could be used to record
their own talent shows.
