➲ The Bahamas is focused on achieving success in maintaining a
sound Aviation Industry that will attract local and international
investment and tourism to its islands.
➲ Within the newly created Civil Aviation Authority, an Independent
Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau - with separation of all
Service Provider and Operations entities (Airports) and Agencies –
will ensure that The Bahamas meets ICAO Standards and
Recommended Practices.
➲ The CAA, with assistance from ICAO’s Technical Co=operation
Bureau, has an Aerodrome Certification Training Programme for
its newly hired Aerodrome Safety Inspectors, allowing for the
certification of its airports completely in-house.
➲ As of I July 2013, the Government assumes full responsibility for
Air Traffic Services at the Grand Bahama International Airport.
