Rail: There are 2 major rail lines in the Township. The Great Lakes Rail runs north/south
in the western half of the Township and CSX operates a rail running southeast to northwest
in the Township
Air: No major airports
Highway: Interstate 96 crosses the Township east-west

Public Facilities: The Genoa Township Hall is conveniently located at 2911 Dorr Road
between the cities of Howell and Brighton. The site is home to the Genoa Township Park
and also hosts a playground pavilion, sledding hill and athletic fields for residential and
public use. Township police services are provided by the Livingston County Sheriff’s
Department; fire protection services are provided by the Brighton Area Fire Authority.
Hospitals and Clinics: St. Joseph Mercy Brighton, located northeast Genoa Township, has
been serving the Livingston County community since 1986. A facility designed to promote
health and healing, this outpatient health center houses primary care and specialty
physicians, comprehensive diagnostic and testing services, emergency services, outpatient
surgery and cancer care. St. Joseph Mercy Livingston is located in Howell, MI within the
City of Howell and offers 24 hour emergency department, inpatient and outpatient surgery,
a variety of diagnostic and outpatient services and over 300 physicians serving patients.
Higher Education: Cleary University located in Howell, MI within the Township boundary.
Eastern Michigan University has a satellite campus within the Township in the Genoa
Business Park.
Public Schools: Genoa Township is served by the Howell, Hartland, Brighton, and Pinckney
School Districts. Several elementary, middle, and high schools address the needs of
residents within the Township. Three Fires Elementary School (Howell) and Maltby
Middle (Brighton) and Hornung Elementary (Brighton) are all within Township limits.
Parochial Schools: Several private schools are available to Township residents.
Recreational / Cultural Opportunities: Township residents have access to numerous
parks in the area including athletic fields at local schools and at the Genoa Township Hall.
Genoa Township is home to Mt. Brighton, a Vail Resorts property, which provides 130
skiable acres including 26 trails and 2 terrain parks. The Township is also home to 2 public
golf courses, Faulkwood Shores and the Jackal and 2 private courses with the Oak Pointe
Residential Community. The Brighton State Recreation Area is 4,947 acre park is located at
the southern edge of the Township and provides a multitude of year round activities.

INDUSTRIAL SITES INFORMATION:
Grand Oaks Industrial Area: The Grand Oaks Industrial Area located off of Grand River
Avenue in Genoa Township is a 200 acre site zoned for industrial and office uses. The site
has entry off of Grand Oaks Drive in the Township and has both direct rail and highway
access to I-96. With a full range of utilities including water, sewer, gas and electric, the site
is home to several major industries and has space to expand.
Grand Oaks West Industrial Park: This 90 acre area with rail access is located between
Grand River Avenue and I-96 off of Victory Drive. The property is zoned for light and heavy
industrial uses and has direct access to rail facilities with the rail line serving as the
southern property boundary of the area. The site has a full range of utilities including
sewer, gas, electric, and water and boasts a convenient location for highway access.
Brighton Pines Industrial Park: The Brighton Pines Industrial Park is a 20 acre site
located on Dorr Road in Genoa Township. The site is zoned for industrial uses and has
water and sewer access with electric and gas built on an as needed basis.
Pless Drive Industrial Area/Genoa Business Park: An 80 acre area zoned planned
industrial and industrial, located on Grand River Avenue near Euler Road, the area offers a
full range of utilities including water, sewer, gas and electric. Rail access is not available at
this site, but proximity to highways and local roads make transport of services easily
accessible.
Sterling Drive Industrial Area: The Sterling Drive Industrial Area is located near Grand
River Avenue and Dorr Roads in Genoa Township. The 73 acre site has a full range of
utilities including water, sewer, gas, and electric.
GenTech Industrial Park: A 22 acre site located off of Fendt Drive in Genoa Township
with a full range of utilities including water, sewer, gas, and electric with highway access to
I-96. The property is zoned light industrial and has available space to expand.
Parkway Industrial Area: This 19 acre site is located off of Genoa Business Park Drive and
has highway access to I-96. Water and sewer is available on site with gas and electric
installed as needed for space expansion.
Chilson Planned Industrial Area: A 157 acre development located between I-96 and the
CSX Railway located on both the east and west sides of Chilson Road. This area has direct
access to the rail and I-96 exit 140. The property is zoned Planned Industrial and while
available, utilities have yet to be brought to the site.
