Neil Orr begins his ninth year as head coach at Florida State College at Jacksonville. A 1990 FCCJ
graduate, he was a member of the 1989 Mid-Florida Conference Championship team and the 1990 State
Runner-Up team. He earned All-Academic honors twice while at FCCJ.
He earned a scholarship to Bethune-Cookman University where he received his Bachelor’s of Science
in Business Administration in 1993. Prior to FSCJ, he attended Bishop Kenny High School here in
Jacksonville, where he was a member of the 1986 and 1987 District Championships teams as well as the
1986 Regional Championship team.
His 19-year coaching resume includes six years at Edward Waters College (1995-99 and 2005), four
years assisting at the University of North Florida (1999-02 and 2004) and one year assisting at BethuneCookman University (2003). He was athletic director and basketball coach at Orange Park Christian
Academy from 2006-07.
In five years at FSCJ, Coach Orr has matriculated 22 players, 5 Division I players, 11 Division II players and
6 NAIA/D-III playeres, while graduating 17 players. The team has reached the Conference Finals twice.
Neil is married to the former Jenean Jackson. They have four children: Sydney, Bria, Kayla and Lindsey.
Marcus Crowley begins his ninth consecutive
year as a volunteer assistant basketball coach
at Florida State College at Jacksonville. This
is his fifteenth overall. He also served as an
assistant coach from 1990-95. During his first
run as an assistant, he helped lead the team
to three straight state tournaments, back-to-back conference titles
and two consecutive state runners up (1992 and 1993).
Crowley not only serves as coach but also as a mentor. He provides
leadership skills to help the student athletes better prepare for life
after college. Coach Crowley is originally from Saginaw Michigan
and has a son, Marcus II. He is a graduate of Everest University and is
employed at Vistacom.
Michelle Duclos earned a bachelor’s
degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences
from the University of Florida with
a specialty in athletic training. She
continued her education at the University
of South Florida (USF) graduating with
a Master of Arts in Physical Education. During her two years at
USF, she worked with the women’s volleyball team. She moved
to Jacksonville after graduation and now works for Jacksonville
Orthopaedic Institute and as the head athletic trainer at Florida
State College at Jacksonville.
Jean Metelus begins his second year as
assistant coach at FSCJ. He brings more
than 10 years of basketball experience
to the FSCJ BlueWave program. Coach
Metelus served as assistant coach to
legendary Jacksonville coach, Doug White,
at Raines High School. He helped guide the
program to a 92-45 record during a span of four seasons.
Coach Metelus was a two-time All-Conference player at Indian
River State College (Ft. Pierce, FL) from 2004-06. He received a
scholarship to attend Edward Waters College (Jacksonville, FL),
where he later earned his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education
(2011). In 2014, he earned his MBA from Jones International
University (Centennial, CO).
Coach Metelus is a tireless and dedicated worker. His passion,
enthusiasm and knowledge of the game will be an invaluable asset
to the FSCJ BlueWave program.
