Schedule student in the “No Credit Study Hall” course code 2200300
Student completes “For Credit Recovery Course” via PLATO
o Teacher provides exit slip with the student’s grade in remediated course to
the designated summer school site FTE/data entry staff member at the
summer school site.
Student earns a .5 elective credit in the “For Credit Recovery” course. Students who
are not taking “For Credit Recovery” courses will not earn this elective credit.
The FTE/data entry staff at the summer school site adds the remediated original
course code and the “For Credit Recovery” course code to the student’s course
history. The student’s default school will complete the appropriate course flagging
on the original course code.
The summer school site will make a copy of the exit slip. A copy will be provided to
the student’s default school and a copy will be retained by the summer school site.
If the student completes the “Credit Recovery Course” prior to the end of the
summer school session
o Student’s course history should be reviewed by designated summer school
site staff (not FTE/data entry) to insure the student does not need to remediate
additional courses.
o Designated summer school staff contacts the student’s parent to discuss
additional courses or to notify the parent that the student may exit summer
school.
o If summer grad, the summer school site contacts the default school to insure
that all grad requirements are met, prior to allowing the student to exit.
o Teachers should mark the student absent for the remainder of the term.

o Default school will communicate with the summer school site
o Schedule student into “No Credit Study Hall” course code 2200300
The student will utilize the PLATO curriculum to retake the course.
The student must finish the initial PLATO course before they start the next PLATO course.
Once the student has completed all the recommended courses via PLATO
o Teacher provides exit slip with the student’s grade in remediated courses to the
designated summer school site FTE/data entry staff member at the summer school
site.
Student earns a .5 elective credit in the “For Credit Recovery” course. Students who are not
taking “For Credit Recovery” courses will not earn this elective credit.
The FTE/data entry staff at the summer school site adds the remediated original course code
(not the “For Credit Recovery” course code) to the student’s course history. The student’s
default school will complete the appropriate course flagging on the original course code. *If
the student is taking a first impulse PLATO elective course, this step is omitted.
The summer school site will make a copy of the exit slip. A copy will be provided to the
student’s default school and a copy will be retained by the summer school site.
If the student completes all the recommended PLATO courses prior to the end of the
summer school session
o Student’s course history should be reviewed by designated summer school site staff
(not FTE/data entry) to insure the student does not need to remediate additional
courses.
o Designated summer school staff contacts the student’s parent to discuss additional
