HANDWOVEN RUGS PRIVATE COLLECTION HANDWOVEN RUGS HANDWOVEN RUGS This year marks the 60th Anniversary of Cadrys Hand-woven rugs in Edgecliff Sydney. We are proudly celebrating this landmark event with a special Exhibition of part of the Cadry Family private collection of fine and rare rugs. The collection includes centuries-old rare and exotic pieces lovingly collected from far flung Persian borders by the family patriarch Jacques Cadry who launched the business in 1952 and sadly passed away in 2004. His insatiable love and appreciation of the weavers art, his vast knowledge and personal integrity lay the foundations which have enabled Cadrys to become the most respected and innovative carpet dealers in Australia. Many of the pieces on exhibition celebrate the artistic traditions, history and stories of the peoples and their skilled artisans from the major weaving centres located along the ancient silk route. Fourteen unique pieces from the family’s private collection are for sale, for the first time with a percentage of proceeds to be donated towards building a new trauma wing at the Sydney Children’s Hospital.
