BOOKKEEPER Our company is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to assist in managing our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, reliable and committed to consistently meeting deadlines. The individual selected for this position will assist with daily processes of the Accounting Department in accordance with bookkeeping procedures established by the organization. The Bookkeeper will perform complex clerical and entry-level accounting activities including: - Maintaining subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions. Balancing subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries. Maintaining general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries. Balancing the general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries. Maintaining historical records by filing/scanning documents. Processing invoices from multiple vendors and reconciling purchasing orders to vendor invoices. Obtaining and maintaining proper vendor data for various external reporting. Coding and reconciling monthly credit card statements. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. The Bookkeeper works under immediate supervision of the Manager of Accounting and Finance. Primary job functions typically require the ability to work independently and to exercise independent judgment. Experience and Education An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree of Accounting is preferred. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of three years working knowledge of accounting processes (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Journal Entries and Collections) and generally accepted accounting principles. Proficiency skills should be demonstrated utilizing Microsoft Office (Excel and Access). Must be detail-oriented and proficient with 10-key operations.
