UNLOCKING THE SUPERNATURAL A Message Delivered By Pastor Abraham Ojemeh on Thursday Chapel Service, March 27, 2014 We are living messages of the supernatural, Isaiah 8:18, “Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.” The Lord told me in 1990 concerning the Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo, “If you are having some problems understanding the written Word, study this man, he’s a living message.” I did not even know this scripture then. And I made a commitment that I must make my life a living message. As Christians we are witnesses of the ‘supernaturalty’ of God. Whether we like it or not, we are sending messages and that message should be one of the supernatural. We are to lend credence to the scriptures, in Genesis 1:26, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” When Jesus said in John 14:12, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father,” he was not reading a poem, he meant it. I saw a scripture in Isaiah 43:12 many years ago that challenged me as a Christian, in the later part, God said, “…..therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God.” In other words, unbelievers can never understand me except through you. Whatever you manifest, whatever you do and say will become how they know me to be. And in Acts 1:8 at the take-off of the ministry of the Apostles, Jesus told them, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” I came to a conclusion that Christianity has no meaning without the supernatural. In 1 Corinthians 2:4, Paul speaking, said, “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power...” In 1 Corinthian 4:20, “For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.” One of the proofs of Christianity is the tangible, touchable transformation in the life of a mortal man. To me, that is the strongest evidence of Christianity. In Acts 4:13, “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” They could not ignore them because they became enigmas. As a Christian, if you cannot draw a line between when you were born again and when you were not born again, then, there’s a problem. In 1 Peter 3:15, the Bible says, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear...” I did a little research and find out that Christianity is not only a ticket to heaven, but also an empowerment to make impacts on earth. We must be connected to the power available to us in redemption so we can maximize our benefits here. I still cannot understand why a Christian would fear what the world fears. Because of the sin nature, we lost the supernatural nature in the Garden of Eden, but Christ came to restore our place to us. We are no more under the nature of sin. We are now in dominion over the works of the devil. We must unlock the supernatural because we need it. Your new birth qualifies you for the supernatural, but it takes scriptural command to unlock it, Isaiah 45:11, “Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.” In Mark 11:23, the scripture says, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” The issue of declaration is inevitable in the school of the supernatural. You cannot claim what you cannot proclaim. If it is too big for your mouth, it would be too big for your hand. Every sign and wonder is a product of sound. In the school of the supernatural, the opposition will only respect your declaration, not your size. Psalm 18:43, “Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.” Verse 45 says, “As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.” A closed mouth is a closed destiny. You must give a voice to God’s Word for access to manifesting the supernatural. To Gain Supernatural Access By Sound 1. You must speak boldly – Luke 21:14 2. You must speak in faith – Daniel 3:16:18
