Yekmantas
by: Amy Kasten
Helloooo earthlings!!! My name is Yekmantas, and I have come from the far away galaxy
called Snickers Bar. My space ship traveled at supersonic speeds as fast as a speeding bullet to bring
me to your planet. I’m thinking that I am going to like it here, though sometimes it seems to smell like
feet. Despite the troubling odor, I come in peace. As a matter of fact, I am as peaceful as a meditating
Buddha statue in a butterfly garden.
I know that upon first glance I can be somewhat intimidating, but please don’t be frightened
away by my handsomely good looks. Though the ladies of the Snickers Bar galaxy do think I am quite
a dreamboat, please don’t think that I am superficial. My enormous head is the envy of all my people,
as it has been said that my head is like a watermelon on steroids. I often receive compliments about my
abnormally large feet as well. Some of my friends say that my feet are miniature spaceships. The
unruly size of my feet, however, is not even the best part. A blue, sticky, slimy antifreeze like fluid
oozes out of the bottom of my feet leaving a trail behind me. I know, I know. Pretty cool, huh?
All of this talking is starting to make me so hungry, which is bad news because people say that
I am a whale when I eat – I just can’t stop! I can only imagine the possibilities I have for eating here on
your planet. I already hear the plate full of chocolate-covered worms dipped in vinegar sauce calling
my name! Ooh, and I forgot the fungus-covered dinosaur feet, or googly eyed squid. My list is getting
to be longer than the line at Chipotle on free burrito day! I must depart for my mother ship at once so
that I can continue to cram my cranium with creative ideas about what to eat on your planet and
inscribe my thoughts upon my space ship walls at once! Peace out, Cub Scouts!
