These are annealed in a large kiln to make “new” or “r ecycled” glass. Bottle Alley Glass On average, each household in the UK uses 331 glass bottles and jars a year. Recycling, rather than disposing of them, would save enough energy to power a computer for five days. Choose your cullet size The mix comes in a variety of sizes, the size is determined by how fine we have broken the glass down. The larger patter ns are made from large pieces of glass, whereas the smaller patterns are finer pieces. The glass pieces are sieved to grade them into sizes. The first sieve is 20mm, followed by 10mm and 5mm. The images below show the dif ferent sizes and the patterns they create. We recommend the smaller mix for tiles and small art features. The large mixes are ideal for splashback and large surface ar eas. Choose the thickness of your recycled glass 8mm 20mm The thickness of your finished glass depends on what you ar e using the glass for. We are happy to advise you on which thickness is best suited for the pr oject. Commercial projects 20mm 10mm 5mm Choose a mix A “mix” is made from adding coloured pieces of glass to our white glass. The colour is derived from the colour of the bottles used and the patter nation is determined by the size of the pieces of glass. All our mixes are available as white tiles with a choice of mix - gr een, blue or brown. They come in either 10mm or 20mm cullet size.
