With MAP testing quickly approaching,
we will be busy reviewing the skills we
have learned over the past several
months. We will continue to read from
our textbook, but we will not have spelling worksheets until after testing. After
testing, we will begin a major project for
my class. I will send information concerning this project right after testing.
Also, I would like to encourage everyone to attend our MAP Night on March
18th at 6 pm. This event is an informative and fun look at what the MAP test
is, and how to prepare your child to do
their best. Hope to see you there!!!

Science
MAP Parent Night
The “Force” has been with us in science. We have
been learning about what force is and the different
examples. We will then learn how simple machines
help us with work. Sir Isaac Newton will “visit” our
classroom to teach us about the laws of motion.
Parents: Parents are invited to Parent MAP Night on
March 18th at 6:00 p.m. in the Intermediate School Gym.
The theme will be “Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader.”
This will help you know how to better help your child during
MAP testing.
ABC Books:
Students have been diligently working on their
ABC books. As we learn new science words, students are required to add them to the ABC Books.
This is a year long project that will be due in May.
The project is worth 150 points. Please check with
your child on his or her progress. Thank you.
Math
It’s that time of year when we refine all of the skills we have
learned the entire year as we prepare for MAP testing. Our new
lessons will include decimals and
percents. Don’t forget math club in
the mornings!
