Message from the Principal!
Dear Parents,
Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service. SBCS is a
community and we’re all about our Catholic faith, about growing in knowledge,
about serving others. These elements set us apart from other options you have in
choosing a school for your child. They are why families such as yours make true
sacrifices to provide your children with a Catholic education. I am very grateful for
the teachers, staff, pastors, parents, volunteers, and parishioners who make our
school a success. What a great week to say THANK YOU for your dedication and
service! We are blessed!
Blessings--Diane Liebsch
Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart
Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart 2017 launched at SBCS this week! Students in grades K-5 learned about
the new Zoo Crew during PE classes and participated in an American Heart Association Kick-Off Assembly
on Friday afternoon. Envelopes are being sent home for students to donate money to help sick kids
through the American Heart Association. Donations can also be made online, too! Our SBCS event will be
held on Friday, February 17, during PE classes, and will culminate with the Heart Assembly at the end of
the day! Let’s keep our hearts healthy by eating right and moving lots!
Worlds Finest Chololate Bars
The 8th Grade Class is selling World’s Finest Chocolate Bars to help offset cost for their 8th Grade Retreat.
We also have them for sale in the office. Feel free to stop by before or after school to get your chocolate
bars. Each bar cost $1.00. If you work in an office where these sell easily, let us know! We’ll get a box to
you!
Marketing St. Benedict Catholic School
As we look to 2017-2018, all parents are asked to help market our great school. We currently have an
enrollment of 211 students in Preschool through 8th grade. All parents are invited to be part of the
marketing team that helps this number grow! If you hear someone express an interest in our school,
please let Amanda Gibson or Diane Liebsch know. We will reach out to this family by mailing a packet of
information and inviting then to tour our school. The best way of showcasing our school is the voices of
our parents and students. Thank you for being on our marketing team!
A Tip of the Raven Wing!
Our Teacher Wish List project was a big success with grandparents and friends of SBCS providing wish
list items for our teachers. An iPad, science newspapers, STEM kits, weather chart, document camera,
library books, sheet music, projector screen, basketball cart----just some of the items we have purchased
because of the generosity of those who love SBCS! We tip our Raven Wing to these donors!!! Makes
teaching so much fun!
8th Grade High School Entrance Exam
Maur Hill - Mount Academy is administering their 8th grade entrance exam on Saturday morning,
