Four Ice Cream Cones, 1964 By Wayne Thiebaud

Four Ice Cream Cones, 1964
By Wayne Thiebaud (1920)
In Art Masterpiece I studied the famous
Arizonan Pop-Art artist, Wayne Thiebaud. When
he was sixteen years old he worked for Walt
Disney. His favorite still-life subjects were
cakes, pies, ice cream and candy. Thiebaud
uses a technique called impasto. Impasto
means he used a lot of paint to make the ice
cream look like it has a thick and creamy texture.
If we plan to visit the Phoenix Art Museum,
we can see the original painting.
