Year 5 Homework – 6th March 2017
Spelling – 20 minutes per week – using syllables to remember spellings
1) Break each of the words into syllables (as we did in class) and then use
them in a sentence – make they are spelt correctly. Write a sentence for
each word.
Example: ac/com/mo/date  accommodate.
The hotel, which is rated as a 5-star, should accommodate you upon
arrival.

Maths – 30 minutes per week
Arti’s Group: Answer questions P10, P11, P12. If you finish within 30minutes,
practice another skill that you need to work on. Practice 3x and 9x tables.
Richard’s Group: Answer questions K1-K3 and L1-L4. Practice 9x tables.
Susie’s Group: Answer questions from A10. Practice 8x tables.
Reading Log – 20-25 minutes per day
You should be reading every day, and once a week choose a task to write in your
Reading Log. Check with your teacher what day your log needs to be brought in.
Record the book you are reading at the back of your reading log.
Project – Up to 1 hour per week
Make sure you have started researching your project and have chosen
how you are going to present it. Continue with your project 
