We would really appreciate contributions from everyone. If you
have an upcoming event you want publicised, photos of events
that have occurred, words of wisdom or anything else that you
want to share with the club please send them through.
Quota Whakatane and
Eastbay Quilters Group
donated 150 dresses to Jo
Dixey, who inspired
both groups to create and
sew dresses for Dress a
Girl! Jo has been instrumental in organizing
'pillowcase' dresses from
New Zealand to be sent
overseas. The dresses
tell predators and traffickers of little children
and young girls, that
someone cares about the
child and they leave
them alone.
Jo sends the dresses with
missionaries and volunteers travelling to under
developed countries.
Many of these girls have
never owned a dress.
As you can see by the
smiles they are very
proud of their dresses!

our newest member was intrigued with the 'Joanie' story

Opotiki's Birthday!
Charter Members, Lois Watson, Josie Mortensen Charter President, and Lynda
Thomas - cut the cake to celebrate QI Opotiki's 33rd Birthday last month.
QI Whakatane chartered Opotiki in 1982. Bonnie, Sammy, Wendy G and Karla
joined in celebrating the birthday! Sammy & Bonnie were lucky raffle winners!
It was a lovely evening of Quota fun and fellowship.
