Part B
Beginning with the invention of the printing press through to the development of the
Internet, technology has revolutionized global communication.
Until the 1990's, the transfer of information on an international scale was controlled
mainly by large news corporations (i.e. radio stations, television stations, newspaper
companies, etc.).
The advent of the Internet has enhanced the ability of the individual to communicate
information globally. In addition, it has become relatively inexpensive to reach a large
audience.
What is the Internet's impact on traditional journalism?
What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of "cyberjournalism"?
What are some ways to ensure the accuracy of the information on the Internet?
What are some things you can do to protect yourself with respect to the Internet?
Discuss how the Internet is affecting our lives socially, politically, economically, and/or
legally?
