Our Experience
ToH Design Studio has been assisting our clients both domestically and
internationally with turnkey furnishings for the past 8 years. Our experience
extends internationally into Canada and specializes in Mexico where we have
provided our services in Acapulco, Cabo San Lucas, Cuernavaca, Loreto Bay
and Puerto Peñasco to name just a few. Domestically we have provided our
services throughout the Southwest United States.

accessories that provide a wide variety of styles and designs from well known,
respected manufacturers and suppliers. Whether you want to furnish a hotel,
a condominium complex, a rental property project or a private vacation home
community, we will customize our services to accommodate you. We develop
our packages to meet our client’s specifications with the goal of exceeding
their expectations in quality, durability, price and service. Our experienced,
professional staff of over forty dedicated individuals, is available to help, whether
you are working domestically or internationally. Our team can be the key to

SIX THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN FURNISHING A
HOME IN MEXICO………YOURSELF!
1. Keep in mind the time involved with making your selections. Once you have
invested that time, you have to ask yourself if it will all fit, coordinate and flow.
2. Tracking the deliveries and keeping on top of any back ordered items-which
can vary depending on the stores. In some cases, you may have to reselect which
translates into MORE TIME!
3. Once you receive the items, you’ll have to check for damages. If there are
damages you’ll have to repackage in original packing materials. Save all receipts,
because you’ll need them for your shipping quotes. You will also have to make a log
of all items – be sure to include the country of manufacturing origin, cost, quantities
and description. NOTE** Items made in China will incur much higher duties up to
300%
4. When you have received everything that needs to be shipped, you need to
start looking for a trucking company to ship all of your items to the border. Then
find a shipping company and a customs broker to cross your items into Mexico. On
average, the cost to ship from the border to Mexico will be approximately 25% of
the value of your items for handling, duties and fees, plus 11% to 16% IVA (VAT)
tax. EXAMPLE* For every $10,000.00 spent on furnishings, consider a cost for
CROSSING ONLY to be around $4,100.00.
5. Once you have decided on a shipper and have turned over all items, the
tracking of the truck becomes your responsibility. You will be given an estimated
time of delivery, which in some cases can take up to two weeks. When items
arrive, you must be present to accept. NOTE* The drivers will not unload, so make
arrangements to have a local company help or plan on doing it yourself. All items
must be unloaded within the required time frame otherwise you will be charged
wait time.
6. Check your log and make sure all items are accounted for and report any
damages to the shipper when unloading. Unpacking and set up will be done by you,
again, factor in the time you will spend doing this. Depending on the community, you
may have to pay to have all trash removed. Also, expect further delays when the
shipper blames the store (and vice versa) for any damages that might occur. They
will both avoid assuming responsibility for damages and pay any claims.
Factor in about a two week time frame to be in Mexico and enjoy your working
vacation.
ToH SERVICES & WHAT WE PROVIDE
1. Items are pre-selected, stock is checked and package is approved by client.
Everything in your home is professionally space planned to fit, coordinate and
flow!
2. TOH tracks, receives and consolidates items to be stored in their secured
warehouse. Items are checked for damages, repacked and tagged with an
inventory barcode label.
3. Once all items are received and ready to ship, everything is loaded on our
truck and shipped.
4. Items are then crossed over into Mexico and TOH begins tracking the
progress of the truck. 7-10 days is the typical time frame to arrive at the
designated location.
5. Once shipment arrives, we have a design team member with our own white
glove crew to begin the unloading and installation process. Installation varies
depending on the size of home and chosen package. A full installation takes
approximately 3 days, barring unforeseen occurrences. The process includes
installation of window coverings, hanging art, making beds etc. We are responsible
for removing all trash from premises.
Since the client is not required to be present during the installation process, it allows
us to have the home set up and ready to go. The client can now make travel plans at
their convenience.

Traditional Package
The “Traditional” package is described as the perfect
combination of traditional style with a classical Spanish
twist. This package offers a professionally coordinated
design which takes into consideration the individual decor
of a Spanish Villa. Rich woods, well crafted elements of
the old world, warm earth tones and ornate details are
used to bring out the distinct features of your home and
complement the architecture and style of its surrounding.
The packages include deluxe housewares in addition to
artwork and accessories. This traditional package will give
your home personality with a distinctly Spanish flair.
