Rather than focusing on a difficult challenge, Engineers usually
simplify the challenge into smaller problems.
Problem: Make the music/alarm box play 3 different songs while the LED
display shows 3 different numbers.
Simplification: The LED display is just a bunch of LED lights put together.
The LED display is complicated, and requires a lot of wires. Rather
than starting with the LED display, can you start with the LED lights?
Simplified Problem: Can you make the music/alarm box play 2 different
songs while either the red or green LED light turns on?
Hint: You might have to use several switches.
Note where in the circuit you placed the LED lights, and how they’re
connected to the Negative and Positive Terminal.
Once you’ve finished this, you can scale up to the LED display!
