great state of Texas. Along the way we’ll experience country music in Nashville,
a River Walk cruise in San Antonio, Southfork Ranch near Dallas, Bourbon Street
in New Orleans and the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. We’ve arranged
for multi night stays in Corpus Christi, Houston, New Orleans and Pigeon Forge.

PROPOSED ITINERARY
DAY#1 – Home to Piqua, OH
Enter the U.S. via the Blue Water Bridge at Sarnia with a stop at the duty free. This is a travel day with
scheduled stops . On I-75 we will pass through Detroit and Toledo to our overnight at the Comfort Inn.
DAY# 2 – Piqua to Nashville ,TN

Travelling south through the wooded hills and rolling farmlands of Kentucky, we arrive late afternoon
in Nashville, Music City, U.S.A. located in the heart of the Bible belt. Our evening includes dinner,
comedy and music at the Nightlife Theatre. Drury Inn and Suites (B, D)
DAY#3 – Nashville to Texarkana, AR

As we travel west through Tennessee, we by-pass Memphis and cross the Mississippi River. In Arkansas, we will skirt the foothills of the Ozark Mountains and head southwest crossing densely wooded
countryside to this evening’s destination. Holiday Inn Express.
DAY#4 – Texarkana to Dallas, TX

A short drive this morning puts us in Dallas. This afternoon a local step-on-guide will showcase Dallas,
including a walk past the ‘grassy knoll’ near where former president J.F. Kennedy was assassinated.

DAY#5 – Dallas to Hillsboro

A tour of South Fork Ranch, made famous by J.R. Ewing on the hit TV show “Dallas”. Enjoy lunch at the
ranch. In the afternoon, we visit the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Fort Worth. Following this we head for our overnight stay at the Hampton Inn
DAY#6 – Hillsboro to Austin

Travel south from Dallas to Austin, the capital of Texas. This afternoon we enjoy an informative city
tour with a local step-on-guide including an opportunity to visit the state capital building. Drury Inn

DAY#7 – Austin to San Antonio

Mid-morning arrival in San Antonio allows plenty of time to visit the Alamo, stroll the Riverwalk with
its lush foliage and unique cafes or hop on the local trolley for a sightseeing tour. This evening we
take a boat ride on the San Antonio River. (Riverwalk cruise) Drury Inn & Suites
DAY#8 – San Antonio to Corpus Christi

Known as “The Sparkling City by the Sea.” Located on the Gulf of Mexico this city is home to many
actors, musicians, singers, playwrights, sports enthusiasts and the hometown of ‘Whataburger’. Three
night stay at the Omni Corpus Christi – Bayfront .
DAY#9 -10 – Corpus Christi

These are your days to relax and enjoy all the area has to offer. Our hotel is conveniently located
close to restaurants, beaches, malls, casino cruises and much more. Transportation to Mustang Island/
Padre Island will be offered. Breakfast included at the hotel each morning.
DAY#11 – Corpus Christi to Houston via Galveston

When cotton was king, some thought Houston would become the next New Orleans. Today it is
known for its many oil and gas refineries, medical research and aerospace technology. Two night
stay at the Drury Inn Sugarland.
DAY#12 – Houston

This morning a local step-on-guide will show us the sights and sounds of Houston. In the afternoon
we visit Space Centre Houston and the Johnson Space Centre where the country’s manned spaceflight program is housed. See retired spacecraft and many exhibits relating to space travel.
DAY#13 – Houston to New Orleans, LA
B
We say our goodbyes to Texas and travel east through Cajun country and the southern regions of
the state of Louisiana. By-passing Baton Rouge, we cross the Mississippi River and head southeast.

DAY#14 – New Orleans
Brunch
One of America’s most unique cities, we enjoy a fabulous jazz brunch at The Court of Two Sisters, a
guided tour of New Orleans and a free evening to explore on your own.
DAY#15 – New Orleans to Jackson, MS

Heading north, we visit Natchez, famous for the antebellum homes of the deep south. Antebellum
home tour is included. A sightseeing tour in the afternoon takes us on a portion of the highway
known as “The Natchez Trace”. This national scenic byway was first trodden by buffalo, then
American Indians and settlers. Drury Inn and Suites .
DAY#16 – Jackson to Chattanooga, TN

Our travels today take us northeast through the rich agricultural state of Alabama and across the
northwestern tip of Georgia, the ‘Peach state’, into TN. Best Western
DAY#17: - Chattanooga to Pigeon Forge

Continue north and east to Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Country. This evening’s dinner show, the
Hatfields and McCoys, variety show, will have you laughing, tapping your toes and singing along.

DAY#18 – Pigeon Forge

We commence our day with a tour of the Smoky Mountain National Park accompanied by a local
step-on-guide. A self-guided tour of the Titanic Museum highlights the afternoon. After a delicious
buffet dinner , we enjoy the fabulous Smoky Mountain Opry.
DAY#19 – Pigeon Forge to Dayton, OH

This morning we leave the state of Tennessee, travelling north into Kentucky, through areas where
coal is mined, where horse farms stretch for miles, and into the Buckeye State, Ohio. Drury Inn.
DAY#20 – Dayton to home
B
Homeward bound today after a fabulous Texas and southern central states holiday with Lakeshore
Tours. A stop at duty free at Detroit before crossing into Canada. Home in the evening.
