Day by Day Itinerary:
DAY 1. Paramaribo
On arrival at Paramaribo, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
DAY 2. Paramaribo
This morning experience a city tour of Paramaribo. Here you will find a mosaic of diverse races and cultures. The cacophony of
city life is muted by shaded, tree-lined avenues interspersed with seventeenth-century Dutch wooden structures alternating
with modern hotels and office buildings. In a unique blend of architecture, cultures and religions, Paramaribo is one of the few
places in the world where Muslim mosques, Hindu temples, Jewish synagogues and Christian churches coexist peacefully side by
side. (B)
DAY 3. Paramaribo - Isadou Island
This morning travel by road to Atjoni to board a dugout canoe for your onward journey to Isadou. On arrival, you will be
welcomed by the local staff of Isadou and a lunch is immediately served. After lunch, take a dip in the river to cool off. (B)(L)(D)
DAY 4. Isadou Island
This morning go for a jungle hike where the guide explains how the maroons use the plants and trees for medical purposes.
Return to the resort for lunch. After lunch take a boat ride to visit a maroon village to get acquainted with the culture of the
Saramaccan maroon. This evening after dinner go Caiman spotting by boat. (B)(L)(D)
DAY 5. Isadou Island - Paramaribo
After breakfast you can choose to go for a jungle hike or relax in the water rapids. Return to the city after lunch. (B)(L)
DAY 6. Paramaribo - Raleigh Falls
Depart by bus to Witagrong where you will stop for lunch. Board a boat to Raleigh Falls. Upon arrival at the base camp, Fungu
Island, you can explore the island and take a dip in the water to cool off. (B)(L)(D)
DAY 7. Raleigh Falls
Today do a mountain hike through the jungle of the Voltzberg. This hike is very intensive and impressive. It comes with many
animals, including monkeys, birds, wild boars, etc. The highlight of this day is of course the climb to the summit (240 m) where
you have a stunning view over the tropical rainforest. In the afternoon return to the lodge. (B)(L)(D)
DAY 8. Raleigh Falls
This morning depart by boat to the breathtaking “mother fall”, where you will enjoy swimming in rapids, fishing or just relaxing
on the rocks. Return to the lodge for lunch. This afternoon visit “Manari Falls” or “Anjoemara Falls “where you can enjoy the
cool water by sitting under the water fall. (B)(L)(D)
DAY 9. Raleigh Falls - Paramaribo
After breakfast there is still a chance for a quick dip in the river before starting the return journey to Paramaribo. (B)
DAY 10. Paramaribo
Transfer to the airport. (B)
