Message from our Headteacher, Fiona Daykin
I would like to start this newsletter by saying, ‘Thank you’, for the lovely welcome you have given
me, as I start at Holy Trinity Primary School. From the special Commissioning Service at Holy
Trinity Church, to the early morning greetings, you have made me feel very much at home. The
children here are delightful, and many have taken the time to stop and chat to me about their
interests, and to give me an astute insight into their school life. There are many exciting events
planned for them for this term which, I am sure, will keep them excited and engaged in their
learning.
The staff at Holy Trinity Primary School have impressed me with their dedication to ensuring that the children in
their care receive the best education they can provide, which fosters friendships and encourages curiosity and
independence. If you have any questions or concerns about how your child is progressing at school, the
teachers are always happy to answer these. You can book an appointment through the school office.
Our aim at Holy Trinity Primary School is to develop citizens of the future who are able to be creative thinkers,
who can work in harmony with others and who have the attitudes and ability to become lifelong learners. The
team of caring and dedicated professionals at school are committed to promoting the well-being and the
academic progress of your child.
Reading development is a key school focus this year and we would be extremely grateful if you could find some
time each day to read and share books with your child. It really is the single most important thing you can do to
help them learn.
Finally, I would like to say what a pleasure it is to come to work at Holy Trinity Primary School where the children
brighten even the greyest of days with their laughter and sense of fun.
We are very proud of our new team of
Year 6 Junior Leaders who are
responsible for some very important
duties in school. It has been great to
hear the positive comments made about
their attitude and the impact their role is
making. Their duties include promoting
good behaviour and answering the
school phone at lunchtime.
Have you seen our board displaying the 6 values that we are
thinking about? Each week our assembly themes help us to
think about these:

Dear God,

loving community and the opportunities it
provides us with.
Help us to make our school blossom each day
into our place of learning, fun, happiness and
friendship.
We ask that you help us to live our lives
showing kindness and forgiveness, spreading
love as the years go by.
All these words come from the bottom of our
hearts.
We ask this in the name of the Father, the Son
and the Holy Spirit.
Amen

Governors
Governors formally welcomed our new Headteacher, Mrs Daykin into our school community at the
Commissioning Service at Holy Trinity Church which was attended by all Key Stage 2 pupils, staff, parents,
Friends and volunteers as well as local guests including the Mayor Kate Wheller. It was a lovely ceremony
