Exempted Fireplaces
I. We are directed by the Secretary of State for the Environment and the Secretacy of State for Wales to draw the attention of the Council to the enclosed
copy of an Order made under section 11(4) of the Clean Air Act 1956 which will
come into operation on 31 January 1974.
2. The Order exempts from the provisions of the section the fireplaces known
as the Rayburn Prince 101 and the Rayburn Prince 301. Properly used, these
fireplaces are substantially smokeless and the conditions of exemption in the
Order are intended to ensure their proper use.
3. The Rayburn Prince 101 and 301 fireplaces manufactured by Glynwed
Foundries Limited arc intended 10 burn selected washed coal singles. They are
continuous burning room heaters with back boilers providing domestic hot water
and small central heating systems.
