Summary:Wanttoworkforanorganizationthatischangingthelivesoflowwageworkersandbuildingalabor
movementforthefuture?SEIU775representsmorethan42,000long-termcareworkersacrosstheNorthwest,
andistheregion'sfastestgrowingunion.SEIUishelpingtoleadnationalfightsforaffordablehealthcareforall,
afaireconomy,comprehensiveimmigrationreform,andthefreechoiceforallworkerstoformaunion.We
advocateforqualitylong-termcareforMedicaidclients,andanendtopovertyamongcaregiversandlowwage
workersingeneral.

AtSEIU775,theexecutiveassistantisakeyplayer,providingsupporttoourpresidentandotherexecutivesand
drivingkeycommitments,projects,andprogramswithintheorganization.
JobDescription:ExecutiveAssistant
TheExecutiveAssistantprovidesadministrativesupportandassistancetothePresident,isakeypartnerin
managingthePresident’sschedule,socialmedia,andcontacts,supportstheGeneralCounsel,andprovidesback
upsupportforotherofficersasneeded.TheExecutiveAssistantalsoprovidesadministrativesupportforthe
ExecutiveBoardandmeetingsoftheorganization’sstaff.
Thetasksanddutiesassociatedwiththispositionarevaried,dependingontheneedsoftheorganization.
Representativetasksanddutiesinclude:
• Provideadministrative,office,andclericalsupportforthePresident,GeneralCounselandtwo
Officers.
• Schedulingandappointments,andcalendarmanagement,especiallyforthePresident.Thisis
approximately40%ofthisjob,andrequiresanindividualwhoisconfident,independent,and
providesagreatdealofattentiontodetail.Speedinexecution,goodjudgment,professional
comportmentandaccuracyarerequired.
• Travelarrangementsandcoordination.ThePresidenttravelsfrequently,andtravelarrangements
oftenhavetobere-organizedasmeetingsandplanschange,sometimesatirregularhours.Travel
arrangementsandcoordinationfortherankandfileExecutiveBoardmembersmustbemadeatleast
aquarterlybasis.
• ManagethePresident’sonlinepresence,socialmediaaccounts,andmessaging.Thisaccountability
requiresstrongandcontemporarycommunicationskills,andanuncannyabilitytoclearlyand
effectivelyconveythepresident’svoiceandphrasing.
• OthersupporttoExecutiveOfficeincludeswordprocessing,mailhandling,callrouting,computer
helpdeskfunctions,draftingcorrespondenceandreports,spreadsheetsandpresentations,general
officemanagement,eventplanning,andpersonalassistanceincludingpreparationandmanagement
ofexpenserecordsforthePresident.
• Filingandrecord-keepingfortheorganization’sgovernance-related,governmentalaffairs,and
executivesupportactivitiesanddocuments,includingExecutiveBoardminutes,Convention
proceedings,andotherreports.
• Eventandmeetingplanningforstaffmeetings,ExecutiveBoardmeetings,retreats,conferences,and
othermeetings,includingallaspectsofmeetinglogistics,turn-out,andpreparation,suchas
scheduling,venueplanning,travel,materialsproduction,vendorrelations,andstaffsupportfor
event.
• ProcessexpensereportsandauthorizationsforthePresident,ExecutiveBoard,andtwoadditional
staffasrequired.

Performrecord-keeping,mailingsandcorrespondencerelatedtoExecutiveBoardmeetingsand
