Program: A colony is coming to town! The new Africa Rocks opens June 2017 and with it comes the return of African penguins to the San Diego Zoo since the 1970s. Mr. Rimlinger will share highlights of the progression of work done on the exhibit. The African penguin is an endangered species and interesting tales of these flightless birds will be shared. He will also be providing an update on the Zoo’s conservation work in South Africa with “hot off the press” photos (and possibly a video!) of his visit there in December 2016.
