Welcome
Dear colleague,
The North American Trading Architecture Summit is a
bold and exciting new initiative by WatersTechnology that
is set to establish itself firmly as a key date in the trading
technology calendar.
Through a series of panel discussions and case studies
featuring technology gurus, industry experts and
leading practitioners, the conference focuses on two
areas of technology that are of particular interest to
financial institutions: low-latency trading architecture
and enterprise infrastructure. These are two areas that
are ostensibly pulling in different directions. For those
charged with the task of developing and maintaining
trading architecture, the key issue is performance:
achieving the highest possible speed with the lowest
possible latency. However, the data center managers and
architects working at infrastructure level face a different
set of challenges: reducing costs wherever possible and
deriving maximum efficiency from their systems while
meeting the ever-changing demands of the business.
Trading architecture is a perpetual arms race in which
microseconds matter, whereas enterprise infrastructure is
a budgetary balancing act measured in dollars and cents.
Accordingly, part of the focus of our keynote presentation
from Rupert Brown, Principal Architect at Bank of
America Merrill Lynch, will be on how lessons learned in
trading architecture can be applied to the enterprise. This
will be followed by a special CIO roundtable focusing on
what drives technology investment decisions and how
best to align IT with the needs of business.
This is a must-attend event for trading technology
professionals who want to stay abreast of the latest,
most cutting-edge technologies and strategies for
maximising their existing technologies. As the industry’s
leading brand in this area, WatersTechnology is perfectly
positioned to deliver the most comprehensive, end-user
driven event in the trading technology calendar.
I look forward to welcoming you in New York
on April 27.
With best regards,
Victor Anderson
Editor-in-Chief,
