The Summer Concert Series presents a one-of-a-kind experience, but the event also maintains a unique
purpose: to save lives. All proceeds from the series will go to Miller-Keystone Blood Center and directly
benefit blood transfusion recipients in our region’s hospitals. This is more than a show, but rather it is a
tribute to the power of music as it brings people together to make a difference. Each guest will indeed have
a hand in saving the lives of our closest neighbors, friends, families, co-workers and more.
Readers are invited to send their

regional blood provider, these organizations are
also supporting the MKBC Mission Statement,
which is ‘Saving lives by partnering with our
community to provide a continuous supply of
blood products and services’.”

SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINES APPROACHING
Applications for the 2017 Ralph (Bill) and Jacqueline Younger Student
Volunteer Scholarship are due to be received by the Blood Center
no later than March 31.
This award acknowledges the outstanding student volunteer participation at Miller-Keystone Blood
Center by a graduating high school senior, and is presented in recognition of the importance of
student volunteerism to the health and welfare of the community.
The Blood Center wishes to acknowledge the
tremendous, ongoing support of our local
media, without which we would not be
able to continue in our efforts to increase
awareness of the need for an active pool of
blood donors. On behalf of the staff of the
Blood Center, our area hospitals, and the
patients that ultimately benefit
from these efforts, we say ...
THANK
YOU!
4
The award is named in honor of Bill and Jackie Younger, two of the Blood Center’s most dedicated
volunteers who donated more than 25,000 hours of service to MKBC. We are proud that the
continued presentation of this scholarship award in their name ensures that Bill’s legacy and the
commitment both he & Jackie had for the Blood Center and for our community lives on.
