Each state owns the Interstate highways and is responsible
for setting operating requirements and enforcement. In
addition, road maintenance, including litter removal, comes
from state funding. When you think about it, every person
in the U.S. is impacted by the Interstate System; if not by
driving it, then by buying products or services that are
transported using it.

is at its highest rate in over 10 years?

hitting the roads this year. All the more
reason to keep them litter-free and safe!

with an expected increase of 1.5% from 2013.
Here are some tips for those of you
getting in the car for that summer road trip:
• Check fluid levels in your car – include oil, coolant,
brake and power steering
• Check your tire pressure – the PSI can be found on a sticker
on the driver’s side doorjamb or the manual
