Information sheet for rehabilitation providers RP-5
Tasmanian Specific Provisions for
Workplace Rehabilitation Providers
This information sheet outlines the elements of the Heads of Workers Compensation Authorities:
Nationally Consistent Framework for Workplace Rehabilitation Providers (the National Framework)
that have been modified or omitted for Tasmanian workplace rehabilitation providers.
The National Framework
In Tasmania, a workplace rehabilitation provider must be accredited by the WorkCover Board if they
wish to deliver prescribed workplace rehabilitation services. To administer this, the Board has
adopted the National Framework.
The National Framework has been rolled out across all Australian workers’ compensation authorities
(excluding Queensland) and sets out the initial application and ongoing performance management
requirements for workplace rehabilitation providers including the:

Elements omitted/amended
The Board has omitted or amended some elements of the National Framework that it has
determined not to be required for Tasmanian workplace rehabilitation providers. The Board may
reconsider the adoption of these elements if the need arises.
Workplace rehabilitation providers wishing to deliver workplace rehabilitation services in additional
jurisdictions should refer to the relevant workers compensation authorities’ websites as elements
omitted or amended by Tasmania may still be required by other jurisdictions.
