Jacob Pinto
At only 18 years old, Jacob Pinto is a 17-time World Champion Martial
Artist, black belt in the discipline of karate, and bonafide star in the art of
tricking, an aesthetic blend of martial arts, capoeta, aerial gymnastics,
breakdancing and pure athleticism.
His talent has secured him television, film and commercial work,
including appearances on The Voice performing with American singer
and songwriter CeeLo Green; America’s Got Talent; Live to Dance;
Nickelodeon; ESPN and a number of music videos and commercials.
Competing all over the world, Pinto holds titles in seven countries,
including Mexico, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Guatemala, Puerto Rico and the
United States. Most recently, he took first place in forms in the Irish Open
2015 International Competition.
Pinto earned the first place title in Red Bull’s Throwdown 2014, an
international tricking competition, where he beat out 16 of the world’s
best trickers in one-on-one and three-on-three showdowns, scoring
highest with the panel of five judges. He impressed both the judges,
fellow trickers and audience with his cork shuriken boxcutter. His
performance also nabbed him a Red Bull sponsorship and invitation to
compete in the 2015 events in Korea and Miami.
Before that, Pinto took first place in the 2014 Summer JAM Gathering,
winning his ticket to Seoul, Korea and placing in the top 16 in the world
for the renowned Red Bull Kick It 2014. Pinto had to bow out of the
competition due to an injury, but within 30 days, he came back stronger
than ever.
Pinto excels at some of the most exciting, risk-taking weapons
competitions where he’s not only mastering his body but manipulating
weapons without error. He took first place in the U.S. Open ISKA World
Championship wowing the crowd with his double sword performance
beating out the defending world champ. Pinto returned to the stage that
same night in ESPN3’s Night of Champions taking an unprecedented
second World Championship title that evening with his outstanding XMA
performance.
Pinto holds six gold medals from WKA World Championship in Italy –
three for his weapons performance and three for forms.
In addition to his titles, Pinto conducts worldwide training seminars in
martial arts, weapons and tricking – teaching thousands of students. He’s
worked with kids and adults from 4 to 50 years-old, including celebrity
and U.S. actor, Channing Tatum. In the world of tricking, Pinto is the first
to master a right-side triple cork flip and third worldwide to master the
double, full swing-through triple cork. He was also known to be the
youngest competitor in the tricking circuit to reach such a tremendous
level of success.
Pinto began training in martial arts at 7 years old. He’s been trained by
some of the most renowned martial artists, including Chris Casamassa
(Mortal Combat), Mike Chaturantabut (Power Rangers Lightspeed
Rescue), Craig Henningsen (Spiderman on Broadway), Matt Mullins
(Kamen Rider), Marcel Jones, world champion and manager of Team Pro
Rank, and Kalman Csoka, a fifth-degree back belt. Pinto has worked with
reputable brands, including Red Bull, Fiat USA and Barnabus Clothing.
Pinto currently performs with SOH (Substance Over Hype), Sideswipe
and Team AKA. He lives in Southern California where he enjoys water
skiing, wakeboarding, snowboarding and ATV riding. He is also fluent in
Spanish and American Sign Language.
