In this activity students will learn about the
Munich Conference of 1938 by using source
materials to put together leaders’ speeches for
the press conference following the Munich
Agreement. They will role play the press
conference and then examine the differences
between their public positions and private
motives, hopes and fears.

Learn about the political positions of the main characters: Chamberlain, Hitler,
Daladier, Mussolini.
Develop their historical understanding of international politics in the era
immediately preceding World War Two.

Study and compare primary and secondary source materials.
