Course Description
This course specifies the outcomes required to operate a mobile crane greater than 3 tonnes capacity that
incorporates a boom or jib. This includes articulated type mobile cranes and locomotive cranes, but does not include
vehicle tow trucks. This includes accurately recording and maintaining information relating to crane operations,
assessment of ground conditions, operate a crane including all functions to their maximum extensions in the lifting
and moving of loads to the safe working rated capacity in conjunction with other personnel, apply risk assessment
and hazard control strategies, use and interpret crane manufactures specifications and data including loading charts.

Course Requirements: 100 points of identification, adequate literacy & numeracy, USI Number, minimum age 18,
white card, appropriate clothing hi-vis shirt and covered shoes or boots, food and drinks, recommended dogging
ticket.
Course Outcome: On successful completion participants will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment
and a licence issued by SafeWork NSW.
Course Fees: A deposit of $1,000 is required within 7 days of enrolment, with the balance to be paid upon
commencement.
Important: Within 60 days of successfully completing any of the above courses, the applicant MUST take their application form,
certificate of competency, evidence of identity, passport photo and $70.50 for the WorkCover fee to a main Australia Post Office
for processing.
Anyone assessed as ‘not yet competent’ can be reassessed on the relevant section after 48 hours from the original assessment
date, and before 90 days have elapsed. (After 90 days a full reassessment will be needed)
Note: Licence to Operate a non- slewing mobile crane is valid for 5 years.
