My Place In countries like New Zealand, we have schools, shops, good roads, doctors, hospitals, playgrounds, parks, swimming pools, libraries and other things that help us live well. Have a look around your community. See if you can spot all the things that make it a good place to live. Make a list of these things and where they are. In places where Worldbuddies live, it’s often these things that are missing in their community. That’s what makes it a hard place to live and why sponsoring your Worldbuddy is so important. Where I Live Draw a picture or map of the place where you live and go to school. Here is some ideas to get you started. Drawing On a big sheet of paper (A3), draw each of the important plac es in your community. Join these up with some roads. Don’t worry if it’s not exactly right. Cut out some labels and write the name of each place on a labe l. Now, see if someone in your family can wo rk out what all the places are and match the labels with your drawings. Stick your labels on with cellotape. Map Ask someone to help you photocopy on A3 paper a map of where you live. Make labels or stickers for all the places you think make this a good place to live. Find these places are on your map and label them. Use coloured pens to decorate the labels. Try to imagine what it might be like not having these things in your community. How would this change your life? On the computer Draw a picture or design a map on the computer of the place where you live. Add places you think are important for making it a good place to live.
