To be entrusted with something as special and intimate as smile is truly a gift. I love my job!” Jennifer Irvine Dr Jennifer Irvine MBBCh, MRCGP, DRCOG, DFFP, Dip therapeutics General practitioner with Special interest in Aesthetics I am the owner and founder of The Aesthetics Centre in Benoni. In 1992 I graduated from Witwatersrand medical school. Following my internship I worked in the UK for 10 years. During this time I obtained a Diploma in Obsteterics and Gynaecology (DRCOG) from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1997, a Diploma in Therapeutics from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne before specializing as a General Practitioner and attaining membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 2000. I developed an interest in Dermatology and Aesthetics while assisting in Dermatology clinics in the UK where I was a Partner in a GP practice for 10 years. My practice has two main focus areas namely Body sculpting and Anti-ageing. I was one of the first doctors in South Africa to offer laser-assisted liposuction and now offer a range of body sculpting techniques. The Aesthetics Centre offers a multidisciplinary approach to Antiaging using various laser devices and recent technology. I am a member of the Allergan Medical Institute (AMI) and became a Local Country Mentor in the AMI in 2014. I am Trainer for the Allergan Medical Institute (AMI) in advanced injection techniques using Toxin and Filler. I am a regular speaker at educational events. I am also a trainer for Radiant Health, in the field of Laser-assisted Liposuction (LipoLite™) and Ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UltraZTM). I am an EXCO member of the AAMSSA (Anti-aging and Aesthetic Medicine Society of South Africa) My other special interest is Palliative care and I am the Medical Director and Executive Board member for Hospice East Rand, a palliative healthcare provider and consults for a local Alzheimer care facility. My spare time is spent mostly with my family. I am a Mother of 3 children, a teenager and twins Jackie Stopford Jackie Stopford the National Sales Manager for NuAngle Medical, I began my professional career qualifying as a Aesthetician with Catherine Lewis Evans at the East rand Beauty Therapy College. Early on in my studies, I realised my passion for Skin and Active Skin care ingredients, as well as the need for advanced training programmes for qualified Aestheticians. Through the years I worked for and with a variety of skin care brands, constantly searching for more. I realised that I was only going to get the answers, training and access to advanced products and ingredients I needed by working with Medical Skin Care brands. In 2009 I was given the opportunity to work as a Medical Representative for NuAnlge Medical Aesthetics. The product line SkinMedica was far more advanced then any range I had worked with previously, and the challenge was on to learn and understand how the right Ingredients as well as the right % could actually effect change on the skin. It became clear that it was not enough to just claim you have an ingredient, but that if that ingredient was not in a high enough % to effect change on the skin it was of no use. This revelation shocked me and it became a priority to ensure that my industry colleagues were aware of this. By Challenging myself to know more, I realised the Doctors and Aestheticians in the Medical Aesthetics industry were as hungry for Knowledge and Active Products as I was. The SkinMedica training was intense, I challenged everything they knew about products and ingredients, but those Doctors and Aestheticians that attended my trainings, are some of the most knowledgeable Aesthetic specialists today. We challenged Ingredients,%, and the over used caption of “Clinically Proven”, and drilled down into what we expected and how to get it. Within my first year I grew the SkinMedica product line by 756%, We employed more team members and the range kept growing. Due to my success and detailed understanding of the industry I was promoted to National Sales Manager and assumed responsibility of the NuAngle Medical Aesthetics Product Portfolio. As we move into a new Era of products with the Zo Skin Health range by Dr Zein Obagi, We will be taking our hunger for knowledge and results even further. Questioning how to turn back the clock once and for all? Why it is so important to prepare for cosmetic procedures and how to get the best results. My focus for 2016 is to bring advanced products to the Aesthetic market and to work closely with industry professionals to improve the training and knowledge of the Aesthetic Professional. Dr. Bradfield won the SADA medals for the highest marks in Prosthodontics. He received the Golden Harris award for the clinical student during the student year for Oro-facial surgery. He is a founding member of Drs.’ Bradfield and Rabies’ flagship Olympus Dental practice in Faerie Glen. Wentzel Christoffel Coetzer Wentzel attended Heidelberg High School where he matriculated. It was in the school library where he found a hypnosis book by Dave Ellman. The subject was both intriguing and mysterious and led to many a laugh at the boarding school where he held small hypnosis shows. It came to the attention of the headmaster and the book was banished from the library due to the belief system that hypnosis was indeed from the devil. At university (Tygerberg dental school) a whole section on hypnosis was found and all the books were devoured. In the search to use hypnosis as a tool in dentistry, it was found that hypnosis was too time consuming to be used successfully as an everyday tool. Only selected patients with severe phobias were treated under the guiding eye of Professor Breytenbach (Prof Manie). Wentzel acquired his dental degree from Stellenbosch University in 1991. In 1995 the first ever South African Medical and Dental Hypnosis Symposium was held at Sun City and Wentzel attended and achieved a level 1 certification. In 2000 he obtained his honours degree in Orthodontics (with distinction) through the University of the Western Cape. A Post graduate diploma course in implantology was obtained through the University of Western Cape through Prof. Van Zijl. Various independent trainers were approached in order to further his knowledge of hypnosis. In 2009 a conversational hypnosis course was done through Igor Ledochowski. In 2010 a Clinical Hypnosis course was done through Igor Ledochowski. In 2011 Wentzel did a Stage hypnosis course with Nathan Thomas and Reg Blackwood. Also in 2011 another stage hypnosis course was done with Igor Ledochowski. Stage hypnosis can play a very important role in the use of hypnosis during dentistry. In 2012 Wentzel studied no trance hypnosis presented by James Tripp. James Tripp also presented his no fail hypnosis short course, which was done at the same time. Since 2011 he is following a mentorship programme in hypnosis through Rita Marr and Vernon Frost. During 2013 Wentzel developed the Hypnosis for Dentists programme – where he aims to make the induction phase as short as possible and have a no failure protocol – all whilst doing it through normal conversation (in order not to sound "strange"). He then also started lecturing in dental hypnosis – presenting his own training event in Cape town and later a lecture for SADA in Kimberley. Private practice has helped tremendously with the development of the program, because the theories could be tested and sharpened practically. 2014 Has started with a bang with 5 training courses (Each 2 ½ days long) throughout South Africa. He has also been invited by the Namibian Dental Association to give a series of lectures focussing on hypnosis in dentistry.
