Gentlemen, the Watchdog program is an amazing and fun way to
see how your child’s education works from the inside. Every
Watchdog volunteer last year had a big smile on his face at the end
of the day. If you have been thinking about volunteering, I
guarantee you will have a great experience. For questions about the
Watchdog program or if you're ready to spend the day with our
amazing students, just call or visit the Elementary office for more
information. Thank you.
You can learn even more by attending our 4th annual Dads and
kids pizza night. Thursday evening, Sept. 29 at 6:00 in the

Second graders are working hard this week on "fact power". In
other words, students are working on strategies that help them
memorize addition facts. We are solving doubles facts, almost
doubles facts, and using the 9's trick to quickly add numbers
together. Also, students are exploring the similarities between
plants and animals. Students are learning how plants and animals
both depend on their environments to survive. Soon, students will
use this information to create an animal on their own with
adaptation that help them survive in a habitat of their choosing.

Sixth grade had an awesome time at the Canyonlands Discovery
Center in Monticello, Utah! They got to look at things under a
microscope, which was quite thrilling for all of them. They also
had the chance to make filters from different materials as well as
making their own versions of wind turbines! There was also a cool
museum and a bouldering wall for the kids to experience. Talk
with your student daily to see what cool things they are up to in all
of their classes! We are also aiming to have all NWEA testing
done by the end of this week!
